According to document No. 042021000759 [2021] of the Shanghai Municipal Supervision Department that came out of the Internet, the parties purchased 22 camera equipment with face recognition functions, with a total hardware and software procurement fee of RMB173,800, and installed them all in their stores, involving 5 directly operated stores and 2 franchise stores. From January 2021 to June 2021, the above-mentioned face recognition camera devices collected a total of 431623 faces.
Radar Finance noted that the 2021 CCTV 3.15 evening party exposed the face recognition camera hidden in the physical store, and the face information of the store consumers in the case of no feeling has been stolen. Kohler Sanitary Ware, BMW, Max Mara and other stores have installed face recognition cameras, and massive face information has been collected.
These companies are not the only ones who collect face information. At the end of March this year, the official service account of the Zhangjiagang Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau in Jiangsu Province issued a document saying that when law enforcement officers inspected the "Mingchuang Patrol Store" mobile app used by a store manager in the jurisdiction, they found that the app's face recognition function was still in normal use.
Further investigation by law enforcement officers found that the app's face recognition function is very powerful. It can identify the gender and age group of customers entering the store, and automatically identify and mark customers with labels such as "new customer first arrival", "regular customer 11th arrival", "member" and so on. And this information, the customer is not aware. At present, the Zhangjiagang Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau has filed a case investigation into the relevant units involved in The Famous Creation Products.

In the view of industry insiders, face payment is becoming an emerging payment method, and the harm after the leakage of face information is huge, and it is recommended that relevant departments increase their crackdown.
