"Mariana is the deepest trench in the world, representing the hardships of self-developed chips." OPPO founder and CEO Chen Mingyong delivered a keynote speech at the OPPO Future Technology Conference on December 14, saying that Mariana MariSilicon X is only a small step in OPPO's self-developed chip, and OPPO will continue to invest resources in the future to use thousands of teams to make self-developed chips in a down-to-earth manner. No matter how many challenges lie ahead, we will persevere and insist that Qingshan will not relax.

OPPO is not the first mobile phone company to launch a self-developed chip, but it also reflects that after the scale and strength of mobile phone companies reach a certain level, they will explore the core technology field upstream to become a better option, which is an important means to consolidate the competitiveness of enterprises and product competitiveness. Previously, Xiaomi and Vivo have released self-developed chips, of which vivo V1 is an image chip, and Xiaomi Surging C1 is also an image chip.

Chen Mingyong said that technology companies must solve key problems through key technologies, and if there is no underlying core technology, there can be no future; and the flagship product without the underlying core technology is a castle in the air. The Mariana MariSilicon X chip marks OPPO's real entry into the "deep water zone" of research and development, and has taken a key step in the breakthrough of the underlying core technology.

According to reports, OPPO's first chip, MariSilicon X, uses a 6nm advanced process and is the first independent image dedicated NPU chip on the mobile terminal. OPPO's high-end flagship Find X latest series will be the first to carry the chip, which is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2022.

At the conference, OPPO also released a new generation of smart glasses - OPPO Air Glass. The main body of the glasses weighs less than 30 grams and the lens thickness is only 1.3 mm. The lenses use a thin and light diffracted light waveguide technology to achieve an average eye brightness of 1400 nits. Silicon-based Micro LED displays with a single pixel of only 4 microns can achieve a maximum brightness of 3 million nits. It uses a self-developed Spark micro light machine, which is only the size of a coffee bean.
