Previously, digital bloggers have revealed that Huawei will release a folding screen mobile phone called "Mate V" within the year, and the folding scheme adopts the clamshell type up and down folding, equipped with a Kirin 9000 processor.
At present, it seems that Huawei does not intend to include the new folding screen mobile phone into the Huawei Mate series mobile phone that focuses on high-end business, but has joined the Huawei P series mobile phone with image and fashion as the core.
Unlike Huawei's previous Mate X series horizontal folding screen mobile phones, the P50 Pocket is likely to be Huawei's first vertical folding screen mobile phone as revealed.

According to DSSC, global sales of folding screen mobile phones are expected to reach 3.8 million units in the fourth quarter of 2021, and sales are expected to climb to 17.5 million units in 2022.
