The world's shortest woman is only 71 centimeters when she was born and told she would not live more than 24 hours, and now she is 18 years old

Wildine Aumoithe, 18, lives in Miami, Florida, USA. She was proud to hold a Guinness World Record – the shortest woman in the world.

Wilder is just 2 feet 4 inches (about 71 centimeters) tall. Recently, she was awarded the Guinness World Record for the shortest woman in the world who cannot walk. She suffered from dwarfism, and after she was born, her parents were told she would not live more than 24 hours.

However, Wilder fought against fate and celebrated his 18th birthday earlier this year. She said, "It's really incredible to have a Guinness World Record and I'm proud of it. What's even cooler is that I was the first Haitian-American mix to maintain the record for the shortest woman. ”

"Apart from my physical condition, I enjoyed a normal life as much as possible. I never stopped moving because of dwarfism or missed anything in my life. My friends always treat me like normal people like them, I am grateful to be a 'little person', and I have never been bullied for it. Wilder said.

Wilder said that when her mother was six months pregnant, doctors told her she had dwarfism after the baby was born. Her mom was crying, scared because she didn't know what dwarfism was, and Wilder was her first child.

"After I was born, the doctor initially thought I had cartilage hypoplasia, but after the examination, it turned out that I was SADDAN type dysplasia because I was short. SADDAN is a rare type of dwarfism that no one ever thought I could live for 24 hours. But after I lived 24 hours, for the first six months, I was even sent to a hospice because no one thought I could survive. Wilder said.

(SADDAN dysplasia is a type of severe cartilage underdevelopment with delayed somatic development and acanthosis nigricans.) )

As a child, Wilder was able to walk, but now he can only use a wheelchair due to the deformation of his legs.

Wilder said: "I could sit on the floor and move around, but I couldn't walk anymore and when I grew up, my bones got older. My mom had to take care of all my daily needs. She doesn't go to work so she can take care of me at all times. This world does not belong to dwarves, but to people five feet or taller.

If I want to be active at home, sometimes it's tough because there's a lot of makeover to be done. If I'm going somewhere, I'll have to find a way to do it. At home, my bed was remodeled for me; so were my drawers and desks, so that I could work. I have four wheelchairs to help me get around, but I need my mom to help with my daily needs and help me get my stuff. ”

Wilder went to school all the time and was extremely outgoing. She says she's a social talent and makes friends easily. She also said that she was a very confident person with a strong personality. "I love hanging out and doing something with my friends. I'm not going to let the fact that I'm small get in the way in any way. When I show up in public, a lot of people will stare at me, people will ask me why I'm so short, but I'll just tell them that I'm a very small person, that's all. ”
