At the end of the Qing Dynasty in 1901, a 21-year-old hairy boy who went from Xuzhou to join the army made a wild statement to meet the commander of the new army, but he did not know what the young man had thought of, and the guard in charge of the door did not embarrass him and delivered this self-recommendation letter to Yuan Shikai, the inspector of Shandong at the time. Yuan Shikai read the contents of the letter and did not ignore it, but was very curious about this brave and resourceful young man, and Yuan Shikai, who cherished the talent, decided to take the time to receive him.
However, it happened that his mother suddenly died of illness, and Yuan Shikai was staying at home to keep filial piety, and there was no way to meet in person. Therefore, he sent his subordinates to meet Xu Shuzheng. Who could have predicted that it was this miss that made Yuan Shikai lose a national wizard. At first, the person who received him was Zhu Zhongqi, the envoy of Shandong Province, and in his eyes, Xu Shuzheng was just a hairy boy who spoke wildly. The pretentious Xu Shuzheng left angrily after being counted by Zhu Zhongqi. Thus, this unpleasant meeting ended in a hurry with only a few words.
Once, Xu Shuzheng was idle writing couplets in the inn, and Duan Qirui, who was passing by, was attracted by his majestic pen and ink, so he took the initiative to communicate with him. As a result, the two were very close, and they had a feeling of like-mindedness. Since then, Xu Shuzheng has gradually become Duan Qirui's right and left arm. He worked hard to assist Duan Qirui for more than twenty years, during which time many great warlords were anxious. Duan Qirui was also a legendary figure in the Republic of China period, and as the leader of the Anhui warlords, his merits are still discussed today.
However, in his achievements in creating three republics, Xu Shuzheng's full assistance can be said to be indispensable. Under Xu Shuzheng's advice, Duan Qirui became the governor of Huguang, and when Duan Qirui and Feng Guozhang had contradictions and frictions, Xu Shuzheng successfully persuaded Zhang Zuolin's Fengjun to help Duan Qirui in time. Since having Xu Shuzheng, who has courage and strategy, Duan Qirui can be said to have become more and more beautiful, but he has made zhang Zuolin, Wu Peifu, Cao Kun and other warlords suffer a lot of losses.
In addition, Xu Shuzheng personally led troops to retake Outer Mongolia, and after this incident, more people admired him. In 1925, Xu Shuzheng was on his way to Tianjin by car, but was hijacked and shot by Feng Yuxiang's men. At this point, Xu Shuzheng, who made great contributions to Duan Qirui, withdrew from the stage of history with such a tragic ending.
