In an interview with CNN, Chriswell said the deadly tornado swarm that occurred last weekend represented the future under climate change and called "the impact of climate change that we are seeing" a "crisis of our generation."

Chriswell called the tornado swarm "very unusual," while acknowledging that "it's not uncommon that we saw tornadoes in December." Still, she noted that the scale and severity of the disaster's devastation was "historic" and that "the time and intensity of these tornadoes staying on the ground is unprecedented."

The multi-tornado weather has killed nearly 100 people, leveled the entire town of Mayfield in Kentucky, and swept 227 miles (365 kilometers) across western Kentucky and neighboring Arkansas, potentially breaking nearly 100-year records. According to ground measurements, tornado winds exceeded 250 mph (402 km/h).

As the search and rescue operation continues, Kentucky Gov. Andy Behir warned that the death toll could climb to more than 100. The FMA has sent a team to Kentucky to assist in these efforts. (Editor: HHJ)
