What do rare animals in Guizhou, such as warty salamanders, black langurs, macaques, civet cats, and stink frogs, look like in the designer's pen? On December 11th, a COP15 essay and poster creation activity report exhibition with the theme of "I live here, here is Guizhou" was held in the exhibition hall of the National Karst Rock Desertification Prevention and Control Engineering Technology Research Center of Guizhou Normal University (Normal University Campus).
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guizhou Province, together with the Engineering Technology Research Center for the Prevention and Control of Karst Rock Desertification and the Design Art Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Artists Association. At the exhibition site, dozens of theme posters with full visual tension and profound creative meaning vividly interpret the creative concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
Guizhou Province is located in the subtropics, with a wide variety of vegetation types and a rich variety of animals. According to the survey, the province has more than 500 kinds of higher plants, more than 700 kinds of ferns, 11 national nature reserves, 18 national scenic spots, 9 national geological parks, 30 national forest parks, and 45 national wetland parks, which are very rich in biodiversity and have an important position in biodiversity conservation strategies. In recent years, Guizhou has deeply implemented the concept of "Shanshui Lintian Lake Life Community", adhered to the principle of "protection priority and natural restoration", coordinated ecological protection and construction with the ecological security pattern of the province, improved the stability of the ecosystem and service functions, and promoted the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. Actively build ecological corridors and biodiversity conservation networks; formulate overall construction plans for ecological corridors and biodiversity conservation networks in the province.
According to reports, this exhibition is around the COP15 Conference (the fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity held in China) theme "Ecological Civilization: Building a Community of Life on earth", organized and organized to collect essays and posters. It aims to collect articles and poster works from public and social institutions that love environmental protection and care for rare animals, interpret the theme in literary and artistic language, fit the local biodiversity publicity of Guizhou Province, promote the orderly participation of the public in the collection activities, arouse social concern, and convey the concept of environmental protection. The collection activity received a wide response from the society, and nearly 100 excellent works from all over the country were received.
Among the works on display, Chen Hongna's design of the work "Use It Unconsciously, Lost and Difficult to Survive" has received unanimous praise, she takes guizhou's biodiversity and endangered organisms as the background, integrates guizhou giant salamander, warthorn salamander and "Guizhou dragon" fossils, and expresses the design theme in the form of hand-painted, hoping to warn people and call on people to protect wild animals, and not to let wild salamanders and warth salamanders appear only in fossils one day in the future. She said that participating in this activity has gained a lot from herself, and in the future, she will lead by example, participate in the ranks of protecting wild animals, jointly build a beautiful home for wild animals, and hope that the environment for harmonious coexistence between man and nature will become better and better.
Zheng Hongyi, a first-level researcher at the Department of Publicity, Education and Foreign Cooperation of the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guizhou Province, said that he hopes that friends who visit the works can let more people pay attention to biodiversity and pay attention to the ecological environment that is closely related to us through the authors' colorful works of art.
"Through this theme, we find that more and more young people are beginning to pay attention to and participate in environmental protection, starting from the perspective of life, using the way of article writing and poster design, the urgency of protecting animals and plants, the closeness between man and nature and the importance of the community of human destiny are warmly expressed, and in the form of art, reflecting the understanding and respect for life." Ren Xiaodong, a professor at the Karst Research Institute of Guizhou Normal University, said that the theme of the poster of this exhibition is mainly to look at the biodiversity of Guizhou from the perspective of living in Guizhou, to find a way for people to coexist in harmony with nature, animals and plants, and to promote the society to understand the rich biodiversity of Guizhou and stimulate all sectors of society to actively participate in the publicity and protection of Guizhou's ecological environment.
"Conservation of natural ecology is never an outdated topic in art because it is closely related to our lives." Zhou Zihong, professor of the Design Department of the Academy of Fine Arts of Guizhou University, believes that the participating works are a collision of art and science, and the creators use different forms to express their concern and thinking about environmental protection, and it is not difficult to find from the works that only the creators begin to examine their own social responsibilities and create works with a sense of social responsibility.
