CCTV news: On December 13, 1937, the Japanese army attacked the city of Nanjing, creating a tragic Nanjing Massacre. The "Nanjing Military Tribunal for the Trial of (Japanese) War Criminals" verified that in the Nanjing Massacre, there were 28 cases of large-scale mass massacres in the Nanjing Massacre, killing more than 190,000 people; there were 858 sporadic massacres, involving about 150,000 people. The Japanese army massacred more than 300,000 Chinese prisoners of war and refugees. On February 27, 2014, China legislated to designate December 13 as the National Day of Commemoration for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre. As of now, only 61 survivors remain on record by the Victims Assistance Association of the Japanese Invasion of China in Nanjing. May the dead rest in peace and peace last forever!
