The next day after breakfast, continue on the road. Just after wading through a river, I heard gunshots in front of me, and it was the reactionary landlords in the village who fired their guns to prevent them from crossing. The "important person" was nervous and asked Wang Hongkun what to do.
"It doesn't matter, you're relieved!" Wang Hongkun comforted him, and immediately divided his troops into two ways, attacking the cottage in one fell swoop and crushing the enemy.
After lunch, Wang Hongkun found a village with good terrain, put up sentries on all sides, and arranged "important people" in the safest place for everyone to rest for a while. But when he heard gunshots in the distance, he became frightened again and said, "Battalion commander, how can you rest here?" ”
Wang Hongkun said, "It's all right, rest assured to take a nap!" But this person never dared to close his eyes.
In order to make him less tired during the march, Wang Hongkun also prepared a mule for him, but he did not dare to ride along the way, for fear that the target would be too large and would be shot by the gun.
Who is this "important person"? Afterwards, Wang Hongkun learned that he was Zhang Mou, who was sent by the central authorities to the base area as a "number one."
At the first meeting, Zhang Mou gave Wang Hongkun the impression that he had no combat experience and was timid.
After that, when Wang Hongkun saw this "important person" again, he called him "Chairman Zhang".
In the summer of 1932, during the Battle of Macheng, Wang Hongkun, who had already served as the commander of the Red 10th Division, was ordered to lead his troops in the Changgang area north of Macheng to prevent the enemy of Macheng from coming to the aid of the north. He arranged the three regiments in the shape of a "pin" and prepared to order the 28th and 29th regiments to attack on both sides when the enemy entered the circle of fire. I didn't expect that there was no movement at the 29th regiment. He sent another correspondent to deliver the order and found that the 29th Regiment was no longer there. Afterwards, it was learned that the 29th Regiment was transferred elsewhere by Zhang Mou. Wang Hongkun was angry and anxious, so he had to temporarily change his deployment and ordered the 28th Regiment to stubbornly block the attack. The fighting was particularly hard and intense. At the end of the battle, although some of the enemy was also annihilated, the troops also suffered many casualties.
If the 29th regiment had not left, the result would have been very different. When cleaning up the battlefield, Zhang Mou, commander-in-chief Xu of the Front Army, and Political Commissar Chen all came to the scene. Seeing the tragic situation on the battlefield, Zhang Moulian asked, "Wang Hongkun, how did this battle get so fierce?" ”
Wang Hongkun was holding his breath and couldn't help but scold: "His mother's, he messed up the troops and didn't tell me!" ”
"Wang Hongkun, how do you drive the street?" What advice can I put it to rest assured! Zhang Mou was not happy.
"I can't do it!" I deployed well, and as a result, the troops were transferred away, and I didn't say a word. Wang Hongkun's anger still did not subside.
In this matter, Zhang Mou left an impression in Wang Hongkun's mind as 3 words: blind command.
But it's far from that.
At the beginning of August of that year, the headquarters of the Front Army held a meeting of cadres at and above the division level in Maojiaji to analyze the enemy situation and make arrangements. Faced with the serious enemy situation of 4 enemy divisions in the north and southwest of the troops, General Commander Xu and the cadres attending the meeting both advocated that the troops should be concentrated and not dispersed. Wang Hongkun said in his speech: "I am very familiar with the terrain near Changxuan Ridge, which is convenient for defense, and our 10th Division can go to that area to cover the concentration of other troops. ”
Zhang Mou disagreed, saying that there was a shortage of grain in that area, in fact, this problem was not difficult to solve. In the end, Zhang decided to ask Wang Hongkun to lead the 10th Division to besiege Macheng, and several other divisions were also scattered everywhere. Soon, the enemy plunged straight into the central area of the base area in search of our main force for a decisive battle, and the enemy Wei Lihuang column quickly crossed the Changxuan Ridge and pounced on Huang'an City, and the enemy Chen Inheritance Column also pounced on Qiliping through Xuanhuadian.
The day after Wang Hongkun led the 10th Division to March to Macheng, it was discovered by the enemy, and the enemy planes frequently tracked and strafed and bombed, and the situation was very serious. At this time, the headquarters sent an urgent order to the 10th Division to cut the path north and take control of Qiliping. When the troops arrived, the enemy had already moved out in full force, taking turns to launch a fierce attack. After a fierce battle, although many enemies were killed and wounded, the Red Army suffered heavy casualties. Subsequently, the enemy concentrated 8 divisions in the area of Qiliping, and our army had to be forced to move.
The formation of this situation is mainly due to Zhang Mou's misestimation of the situation, and his inability to adopt correct opinions, blindly emphasizing attack, not to avoid the strong and the weak, to avoid the real and the virtual, but to confront the hard and fight with the enemy.
Several consecutive battles deepened Wang Hongkun's impression that Zhang Mou did not understand strategy and tactics and was blind in command.
Since 1933, as a result of our army's correct operational policy, the enemy in Sichuan has lost 30,000 or 40,000 troops, and the situation has gradually become favorable to our army. At this time, Wang Hongkun had served as the commander of the Red Fourth Army. In August 1934, our army entered the Great Counteroffensive. However, in terms of how to use troops, Commander Xu and Zhang Mou had serious differences. Xu advocated going east, but Zhang advocated going west. To the east was Liu Xiang's main force, which was well equipped but had already been consumed very heavily; to the west was Fan Shaozeng's Fourth Division, which had begun to flee, and before our army arrived, it was likely to slip away.
Since Xu and Zhang's telephones were all transited through the Main Plane of the Red Fourth Army, Wang Hongkun could clearly hear the sounds of them fighting each other on the phone. In the end, Zhang Guo still insisted on seeing it and commanded the troops to the west, and as a result, the enemy in the west ran faster than a rabbit, running more than 400 miles in five days and nights, and our army could not catch up. By the time our army turned back to attack the enemy to the east, it was too late, and the enemy had already seized the favorable terrain and built strong fortifications, and our army could not attack for a long time and had to withdraw.
