Avatar 2 directors and cast reunite in exclusive photos from the upcoming 2009 original blockbuster sequel.
A new set photo from the long-awaited production of Avatar 2 shows the reunion of director James Cameron and lead actor Sam Worthington. Cameron's first Avatar film, released in 2009, received commercial and critical acclaim, with most praising the film's groundbreaking use of visual effects and numerous performances by the star-studded cast. After its release, the film continued to become the highest-grossing film of all time in the past decade, becoming the main theme in the history of cinema.
As the first of many upcoming sequels, Avatar 2 will follow the former human Jack Sally from the original film to live with his new family on the planet Pandora. Once the familiar threat begins to return to accomplish what he had done before, Jack must work with the armies of Netini and the Na'vi race to protect their planet. Many of the faces in Avatar will return, including Worthington, Zoe Saldana, CCH Pound, Giovanni Rebisi and Sigourney Weaver.
In an interview with producer Jon Landau, a picture from the upcoming blockbuster set shows the long-awaited reunion of Director Avatar and lead actor Worthington. The image shows Worthington wearing a motion-capture device with Cameron, and the two appear to be watching a rehearsal of the filmed scene. In the interview, Landau also teased about the interconnected storylines between the sequels and how they would combine to create an "epic saga."
The first few behind-the-scenes photos of the Avatar 2 series aren't as bland as this latest one, and the plethora of other scenes shown in other series suggests that the film's production isn't just crazy.
