Located in the north of China, Erenhot Railway Port is not only the largest land port between China and Mongolia, but also an important node city on the "Belt and Road" construction and the "China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor", the only entry and exit port of the China-Europe express train central line channel, and an important channel for The export of Chinese domestic goods to Mongolia, Russia and other countries.
In recent years, with the increasingly close economic and trade exchanges between China and the countries along the "Belt and Road", the scale of import and export cargo transportation through the Erenhot Railway Port has increased year by year, especially the quantity and quality of China-Europe express trains have been greatly improved, which has played an important role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and the stable supply of materials in China and Europe and countries along the route. At present, more than 40 inbound freight trains pass through the Erenhot gate every day, shuttling through the Mongolian plateau, the Russian hinterland, the European continent and many provinces and cities in China.
"Since the beginning of this year, in the face of the continuous increase in import and export traffic and entry-exit China-Europe trains, erlian station has completed the upgrading and transformation of equipment and facilities with the help of border inspection yards, and the number of entry-exit China-Europe trains has grown rapidly." As of December 5, 2021, the import and export traffic of Erenhot Railway Port reached 15.5563 million tons, an increase of 2.9% year-on-year. Among them, imports were 13.4865 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7%; exports were 2.0698 million tons, an increase of 48.0% year-on-year. 2531 China-Europe express trains were transported, an increase of 15.5% year-on-year. Among them, 1130 trains entered, a year-on-year decrease of 1.4% and 1401 outbound columns, an increase of 33.9% year-on-year.
