The love story of Song Huizong and Li Shishi nourished his artistic achievements

author:One Ko Long Bay

The author believes that the love story of Song Huizong and Li Shishi nourished his artistic achievements. Although this story is not recorded in the main history, there is no wind and no waves, and according to his behavioral logic and thinking style, this matter is true. Because Song Huizong was a talented emperor! It would be neither strange nor surprising for him to do such a romantic thing!

Song Huizong has made great achievements in literature and art, a painter, calligrapher, poet, lyricist and collector in one, good at guqin, keju, bowing, hunting, archery, equestrianism, gardening, tea, self-created "thin golden book" font, he loves to paint flowers and birds to become a "courtyard body". Famous works include "Hibiscus Golden Rooster Diagram" and "Pond Autumn Evening Diagram" and so on.

In "Water Margin", the author describes a love story between him and Li Shishi. Before Master Li knew Yan Qing, I believed that in Master Li's eyes, the most worthy man in the world for her to love was Song Huizong. The high level of his artistic achievements such as calligraphy and painting is inseparable from the strong cultural atmosphere of the Song Dynasty, especially the Northern Song Dynasty. In fact, Song Huizong must have drawn a lot of nutrition from the writers and artists of that era to achieve his artistic style, such as "thin gold body" and so on. In the list of the eight masters of the Tang and Song dynasties, the Song Dynasty alone accounted for six places. It is conceivable that the literary and artistic achievements of the Northern Song Dynasty were so high. Only that environment and atmosphere have the times cultivated a great artist, Mr. Song Huizong. Although in the end, he unfortunately became a slave to the country, he could not hide and bury the value of this monument in the history of ancient Chinese art.

Emperor Huizong of Song was named Zhao Tuo (赵佶), (1082–1135), born in Beijing, Henan, the eleventh son of Emperor Shenzong of Song, the younger brother of Emperor Zhezong of Song, and the eighth emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty, reigning from 1100 to 1126. In the seventh year of Xuanhe (1125), Jin Bing went south, and at the end of the year passed to his son Zhao Huan (Song Qinzong), who declared himself Emperor Taishang. In the second year of Jing Kang (1127), he was taken captive by the Jin people along with Zhao Heng. Jin Tianhui died in the thirteenth year (1135) of the Five Kingdoms City (present-day Yilan, Heilongjiang) at the age of 54, with the temple name Huizong.

Netizen friends may have doubts that the emperor is faint, but his artistic achievements are so high, which is incomprehensible. The reasons for this are complex. One of the important reasons is that the founding emperor of the Song Dynasty set the basic national policy of emphasizing literature over military force, which directly led to the tolerance of the cultural policy of the imperial court, which led to the rapid rise of the literati and doctor class, and its socio-political and economic status was also rapidly improved, thus promoting the comprehensive development of literature and art.

The economic base determines the superstructure, and the superstructure reacts to the development of the economy and society and the evolution of the ideological field. The evolution of aesthetic consciousness in the upper class further strengthened the ideal pursuit of the literati and artists of the Song Dynasty. Their follow-up and imitation will unconsciously promote the all-round development of literature and art, create a historical scene of unprecedented prosperity in the art of calligraphy and painting in the Song Dynasty, create a large number of masters of calligraphy and painting art and outstanding literary and artistic workers, and create a majestic monument in the history of Chinese calligraphy and painting art. To this day, it is difficult for us to surpass the artistic peak that the Song Dynasty set up.
