On November 22, the bronze statue of Wu Fangji was inaugurated at Jiangjin Baisha Jukui Middle School.

Wu Fangji was born in 1896 in Jiangjin, and transferred to the first class of Jukui Academy at the age of 10. He once said: "Jukui Primary School is the place where a certain childhood was taught, the victory of the mountains and rivers, the school of quanshu, and the poetry of a certain person, which has attracted the most inspiration from this." Wu Fangji devoted her life to education, and was employed as a teacher at Northwest University, Northeastern University, Chengdu University, Sichuan University and other schools. In 1929, he organized Chongqing University and served as the director of the Preparatory Department of Literature. In 1931, he became the principal of Gangjin Middle School. On May 9, 1932, Wu Fangji died at the age of 36. According to his wishes, his descendants buried him in his alma mater, Jukui Middle School. In his short life, Wu Fangji left more than 600 excellent poems and a large number of commentaries, letters, and diaries, and representative poems include "Wanrong Words", "Protectorate Rock Words", "Ba Ren Song" and so on.

The bronze bust of Wu Fangji completed at Jukui Middle School is 1.5 meters high and weighs 150 kilograms, and was carved by Peng Jianglin, an associate professor and sculptor at the School of Art and Design of Chongqing Jiaotong University, which lasted for nearly half a year.

"Today, the bronze statue of my grandfather is placed on the campus of Jukui Middle School, and as a descendant, I am extremely pleased. My grandfather had a deep affection for his alma mater, which was the starting point of his wonderful life. In order to repay the grace of his alma mater's cultivation, his grandfather compiled the school history, wrote the school song, wrote a biography for Teacher Jukui, and asked his family to donate precious books to his alma mater on his deathbed. It is believed that Jukui teachers and students can carry forward the fine traditions and excellent qualities of their grandfather. Wu Fangji's granddaughter Wu Taiying said.
