The pace of time is really fast, and it has been ten years since I came to Yunnan.
In the past ten years, due to the relationship between work, I have almost traveled to 16 prefectures in Yunnan Province, and I have also taken the opportunity to see all the landscapes and rivers of Yunnan. Although the travel was hard, it did not waste my original intention of coming to Yunnan to study for graduate school. After coming to Yunnan, I went to Lijiang, to Xishuangbanna, and to Dehong, in short, in the slow-paced time, I got a completely different experience from my brother in Shanghai. My brother often envied me, and when he called me, he basically talked about the landscapes and customs of Yunnan. At least in his opinion, Shanghai has nothing to talk about. Maybe there are some things he keeps secret. I think. So I rarely ask about the details of Shanghai.
Talking about Yunnan, I have endless topics to talk about. Too knowledgeable for the reason of contact. But only the pure land of Ailao Mountain, I have not yet set foot on it. After the outbreak of the epidemic, the work was relatively busy, if it were not for the recent death of four geological personnel in the line of duty in Ailao Mountain, I almost forgot about Ailao Mountain. At first, I was interested in Ailao Mountain when I was staying in the county seat of Jingdong, and a local brochure talked about the past story of the "Ailao Country".
As we all know, the Dai are one of the 56 ethnic groups in China, and the population community is mainly distributed in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture and Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. According to historical records, the Ailao State was the first Dai regime controlled by the Dai people, during which a famous dynasty also emerged, that is, the "Luchuan Dynasty". The second regime was the State of Nanzhao, the seat of present-day Dali, and of course its area of command included present-day Guizhou and other places. From the perspective of historical context, it is mainly divided into the following stages:
In the mid-5th century BC, the Min state between the Nu River and the Lancang River formed an alliance state centered on the "Mengpao (Elephant Kingdom)", and then gradually expanded in three directions: east, west and south, from the Yunling Mountains in the east to the Irrawaddy River Basin in the west, to the southern foothills of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the north, and to the south-central Shan Plateau in the south.
At the end of the 2nd century BC, when the Eastern Tu Han Kingdom expanded to its southwest, it tried to contact the "Mengpao", but due to the obstruction of the barbarian tribes in the middle, it did not come into contact with the "Mengpao", and Sima Qian recorded the "Mengpao" as the "Elephant Kingdom" in the "Records of History". In the 1st century BC, after the Han Dynasty conquered the barbarians in the middle of the Yunnan Plateau, it began to have contact with the "Mengpao", thus calling the "Mengpao" the "Ailao State", and the inhabitants of the Ailao State with the Main Body of the Min people were therefore called "Ailaoyi".
In 69 AD, Liu Mao, the king of Ailao, led 77 vassal states, more than 50,000 households, and more than 550,000 people to the eastern land, and the Han state set up Yongchang County in its territory; in 76 AD, the Ailao royal family and the officials stationed in the Han state had a conflict, and the Ailao king raised an army against the Han; the following year, the Han state transferred barbarian armed forces from the central Yunnan plateau to counterattack the Ailao armed forces, and the Ailao king was beheaded and the remnants of the royal family crossed the Nu River in the west. A few years later, the state of Ailaoren, west of the Nu River, reorganized the alliance state at the crossing "Daguang" on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River, and the Book of Later Han and other Chinese texts recorded this country as the "Shan State".
In 738, Ailaoyi rose again, and the small state of Ailaoyi located in the upper reaches of the Lishe River, "Mengshe", conquered the surrounding small states and entered the Erhai Basin to establish the Nanzhao State. The New Book of Tang and nan man shang records: "Nanzhao, or Hetuo, Yue Longwei, Yue Tho, Yue Yang Sword, after the mourning of the prison, Wu Man other species also." ”

The scenery of Ailao Mountain is naturally tempting enough, but we humans still have many unconquered islands. Protecting nature in awe is our mission and a key part of our biodiversity conservation. This is reminiscent of the unique climate of the dry and hot valley of the Jinsha River at the junction of Yunnan and Sichuan, that is, the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, on the one hand, it is naturally caused by topographic and geomorphological reasons, but another important reason is not the bitter fruit of human beings themselves.
In the long course of history, human behavior has been overly involved, changing the microclimate, and then spreading to the Jinsha River Corridor belt, and it cannot be said that it is particularly necessary to maintain and balance the distance between man and nature. Once destroyed, there are no winners, only victims. Only by maintaining a dynamic balance can man and nature be a win-win situation.
In recent years, the state has made great efforts to protect the natural environment, and has successively established a number of nature reserves, principality forest parks, national geological museums, national grassland parks, and so on. As a forest and grass worker, we are well aware of the difficulty and importance of conservation work, the annual sample survey, over the mountains, through the thorns, sometimes to reach the sample land takes six hours, and the nature of the work of four geological personnel, so we are colleagues in the forest and grass industry, here, I would like to pay tribute to and remember my colleagues in this article!
