author:Master Lu's view of history

One night in 541 AD, a boy was born at Prajnaparamita Temple.

This boy looked no different, just a little thinner than ordinary children, hence the name Yang Jian.

According to the records of the "Biography of the Continuing High Monk", soon after Yang Jian was born, a "fairy girl" who had attained enlightenment came from The Prajnaparamita Temple, and the Dharma name was "Zhi Xian". Zhi Xian said to Yang Jian's father, "He has the blessing of the Heavenly Buddha, you don't have to worry." She gave Yang Jian a nickname, Na luoyan, which means "Vajra is not bad" in Sanskrit, and offered to raise her personally. Yang Jian's parents could not agree, but watching Xiao Yang Jian leave Zhixian, he cried and cried, and he agreed.

This story brought a lot of mystery to Yang Jian's life, and since then Yang Jian has opened his own generation of legends.

The four hundred years from the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the early years of the Sui and Tang Dynasties were one of the most turbulent times in Chinese history. Although Sima Yan was briefly unified, the Western Jin Dynasty only unified China's territory and did not form a supporting system, resulting in serious internal attrition in the Central Plains, and the beginning of a more serious chaotic world.

And now, this man who can bring great unity has descended into the world, which is our protagonist, Yang Jian.

Yang Jian's father, Yang Zhong, was the founding hero of Northern Zhou and a general of the State of Zhongzhu and was crowned as the Duke of Suiguo.

After Yang Zhong's death, Yang Jian inherited his father's title. And because Yang Jian's eldest daughter married the son of Emperor Wu of Zhou, her status became higher and higher.

Just as the so-called "tree big move", Yang Jian's "high promotion" along the way was also met with the jealousy of others, and Yuwen Xian, the king of Qi, once said to Emperor Wu: "Yang Jian is an unusual person, he will certainly not live under the people for a long time, and he should be removed early", Yang Jian knew that he would act low-key after he knew it.

In the sixth year of Jiande (577), Yang Jian followed Emperor Wu of Zhou to destroy Northern Qi, occupy the Yellow River valley and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and unify the north.

After emperor Wu of Zhou's death, the crown prince Yuwen Yun succeeded him as Emperor Xuan of Zhou. The crown prince was promoted to emperor, the crown princess was promoted to empress, and Yang Jian became the father-in-law of Emperor Xuan of Zhou, and was also promoted to the position of grand general of the pillar state and grand sima of the state.

However, as Yang Jian's power grew, Emperor Xuan of Zhou became more and more jealous. Emperor Xuan of Zhou also vented his dissatisfaction with Yang Jian on Empress Yang Lihua, and on one occasion he actually said to the empress, "You must destroy your entire clan." So Emperor Xuan of Zhou summoned Yang Jian and said to the guards, "If you see yang Jian's face change, kill him." However, after Yang Jian entered the palace, he was unusually calm, his face did not change color, and his heart did not beat, so he escaped a disaster.

Yang Jian, who was reborn after the disaster, felt that Emperor Xuan of Zhou would attack him sooner or later, so he thought of a good way.

He deliberately revealed to Emperor Xuan of Zhou that he wanted to take up his post, so that he would stay away from the imperial court and would not pose any threat to Emperor Xuan of Zhou. Yuwen Yun felt that it was exactly in line with my wishes, so he immediately appointed Yang Jian as the governor of Bozhou and immediately took the domain. In this way, Yuwen Yun was relieved, and Yang Jian did not have to worry about it.

Yuwen Yun did not know that this move of his was to release the tiger and return to the mountain.

Yang Jian had a sworn enemy, Pang Huang, who had advised Yang Jian to raise an army, but Yang Jian rejected him on the grounds that the time was not ripe, but at this time, Yang Jian had long wanted to replace him.

Yan and Dai are the places where elite soldiers are sent, and if the troops are mobilized now, the world is simply not enough to plot.

Yang Jian was waiting, waiting for the best time.

Emperor Xuan of Zhou was not a good emperor, and as early as when he was crown prince, Wang Lu and other ministers advised his father Yuwen Yong to depose the crown prince. Yuwen Yong had also thought about it, but he found that his second son Yuwen Zan was not really an emperor material, and the other sons were too young, so Yuwen Yun was spared.

After Emperor Xuan of Zhou became emperor, he indulged in wine and did not ask about the government. This is not to mention, he actually felt that it was not interesting to be an emperor, so in February of the first year of Dacheng (579), he passed the throne to his eldest son Yuwen Yan, who was only six years old, despite the objections of his ministers.

Passed the throne to his son, he soaked in the harem every day, and died of illness the following year.

The Lord was suspicious of the country, and Yang Jian's opportunity came.

Emperor Xuan of Zhou had three close ministers who were very trusting, Liu Fang, Zheng Yi, and Yan Zhiyi, and although the official positions of these people were not high, Emperor Xuan of Zhou obeyed them. Among them, Liu Fang and Zheng Yi forged edicts to let Yang Jian assist the government.

Yang Jian entered the DYNASTY as a great chancellor, practicing benevolent government, streamlining the law, taking the lead in frugality, and the people's hearts and minds. Then the opposition forces such as King Zhao, King Yue, and King Chen were eliminated one after another, and Yang Jian's plan to change the dynasty no longer had any obstacles.

In 581, Yang Jian officially accepted the "Zen Concession" of Emperor Jing of Zhou and gave the country the title of "Sui".

Just as the so-called "full of warm thoughts", money is there, name is there, and Yang Jian's mind is also alive.

Speaking of this, we have to mention Yang Jian's legitimate wife, the Lonely Queen, the Lonely Queen, who is inseparable from him.

He will walk with him, to the palace, and send eunuchs to follow him in communication.

Every day, the two of them went up and down, and if they didn't have time, they would send the palace maid to stalk them.

Yang Jian's heart was bitter, so many women in this harem could not touch a single one.

The Emperor Did Not Pay Off, taking advantage of the change of the palace maid, Yang Jian finally caught the opportunity to be fortunate to have a palace maid.

When people were happy, yang jian went to the ground the next day, when nothing happened.

However, there was no impermeable wall, and this matter was still known to the LoneLy Empress, who took advantage of Yang Jian's work to beat this palace girl to death. After Yang Jian went down, he learned of this news, and immediately felt that his face could not be hung up, but he had no way to take this empress, and in a fit of anger, he actually ran away from home.

I am the Son of Heaven, but I am not free.

He rode his horse and ran into the mountains, and a minister named Yang Su chased him out and persuaded Yang Jian. Yang Jian got off the donkey and returned to the palace.

Back in the palace, the Lone Empress also took the initiative to confess her mistake to Yang Jian, and the two reconciled as before. However, this incident still left a shadow in the heart of the Lone Queen, who died in 602 AD at the age of 59.

That year, Yang Jian was 62 years old, but he was crazy like a person in love who remembered his wife, and lost his soul every day.

He ordered Shangshu Zuo's servant Yang Su (that is, the prime minister) to personally look for a blessed land, and Yang Su had to do everything himself, and Yang Jian was very moved. Even when he was announcing his merits, the merit of finding and doing things for the empress should overshadow his merits in the southern conquest of the northern war and the destruction of Chen Unification. Because in the eyes of Emperor Yang Jian of Sui, the lone empress was his life's work.

Two years later, Yang Jian died, ending his legendary life.
