In response to Russian President Putin's positive remarks on bilateral relations a few days ago, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said at a regular press conference on the 19th that this reflects the great importance that the Russian side, especially President Putin himself, attaches to the development of relations with China, and once again highlights that the two countries are giving priority to each other's diplomacy. China and Russia are true partners that cannot be dismantled and crushed.

According to reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke highly of Russian-Chinese relations at the enlarged meeting of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Ministerial Council on the 18th, stressing that the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination can be called a model of efficient cooperation between countries in the 21st century, although not all countries are happy to see the smooth development of Russian-Chinese relations, the Russian side will still strengthen cooperation with China in the political and economic fields, deepen international cooperation, and jointly deal with attempts at divergence and differentiation.

In response to a reporter's relevant question, Zhao Lijian said: The Chinese side highly appreciates President Putin's positive remarks on bilateral relations. He pointed out that "China and Russia are neighbors that cannot be moved away, and they are also true partners that cannot be separated and crushed, and the development of a high-level strategic partnership of coordination between the two countries is a long-term strategic choice based on their respective national conditions." We do not seek a 'small circle' of the party to fight against differences, let alone eat the set of divisive division. The two sides will continue to abide by the consensus of the 'four mutual firm support', move forward firmly in the general direction drawn by the two heads of state, continuously enrich and expand the strategic connotation of China-Russia relations in the new era, work together to build a new type of major country relationship that transcends ideological and historical and cultural differences, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. ”

Zhao Lijian said that in the joint statement on the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Russian Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation jointly issued by the two heads of state in June this year, the two sides clearly reiterated that Russia needs a prosperous and stable China, and China needs a strong and successful Russia. Whether in the past, at present or in the future, Sino-Russian relations will be based on the principles of treating each other as equals, maintaining a high degree of mutual trust and safeguarding each other's core interests.
