On November 13, four members of the Kunming Natural Resources Comprehensive Survey Center of the China Geological Survey lost contact after entering the hinterland of Ailao Mountain from Zhenyuan County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province. As of 16:00 on November 18, no missing persons have been searched.

On November 18, a staff member of the Propaganda Department of the Zhenyuan County Party Committee told the surging news (www.thepaper.cn) that at about 9 o'clock on the 13th, four missing team members entered the field operation of Ailao Mountain and planned to go down the mountain on the afternoon of the 13th or the morning of the 14th. Therefore, they only brought dry food for one day. But they did not go down the mountain within the scheduled time, until November 15, when the police received an alarm and the relevant departments in Zhenyuan County began a search and rescue.

The staff member revealed that the 4 missing team members did not carry satellite mobile phones into the mountain. "The weather has been cloudy these days, sometimes with light rain." The staff member said that after they entered the Ailao Mountain, it rained continuously in the mountain, and the weather has only improved today. At present, helicopters and search and rescue teams have been sent to carry out search and rescue on the mountain. At present, the search and rescue work has made some progress, and some traces of the missing team members have been found, but no missing personnel have been found.

According to @ Beijing News we reported earlier that the missing team members are 4 male staff members of the Kunming Natural Resources Comprehensive Survey Center of the China Geological Survey Bureau, who had called the outside world after entering the mountain operation on November 13, and disappeared from the driver under the mountain on the 14th.

In addition, the surging news learned from the Propaganda Department of the Zhenyuan County CPC Committee that at 19:28 on November 15, the Zhenyuan County People's Government organized the province, city, county, town, and village to invest more than 1,000 search and rescue personnel, more than 110 vehicles, 14 satellite phones, 5 unmanned aerial vehicles, 2 helicopters, and related materials and technical equipment to carry out search and rescue. Because the missing place is located in the Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve, the mountain shape is steep, the trees are dense, the ravines are longitudinal, the average altitude is more than 2500 meters, the geographical environment is very complicated, coupled with the rain and fog for several days, which has brought great difficulties to the search and rescue work. As of 16:00 on November 18, no missing persons have been searched, and various search and rescue work is being carried out in an orderly manner.

According to public information, Ailao Mountain is located in central Yunnan, an extension of Yunling to the south, and is the dividing line between the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Hengduan Mountain Range, starting from the southern part of Dali Prefecture and ending in the south of Honghe Prefecture, with a length of nearly 1,000 kilometers. Ailao Mountain Nature Reserve is the largest primitive Zhongshan wet evergreen broad-leaved forest area with a forest coverage rate of 85.1%, with a maximum altitude of 3156.9 meters, with the purpose of protecting the subtropical zhongshan wet evergreen broad-leaved forest ecosystem and precious wild animals such as black gibbons, green peacocks and grey langurs.
