According to the textbooks, as a relative of the emperor and the state, Yishan was contaminated with the bad habits of all the eight flags disciples, took the initiative to surrender to the British army, and also deceived the imperial court that the foreigners were drowned by the typhoon in the sea.
Yi Shan is not false that he is Daoguang's nephew, but it is really not objective to say that he is a stupid disciple. Before the Battle of Guangzhou, Yishan also made great achievements in quelling Zhang Ge's rebellion and defending Xinjiang, and Yang Fang, a famous general who fought against the British in Guangzhou with him, was his old comrade-in-arms in Xinjiang.
Many Chinese historical records record that Yishan was keen to buy foreign goods in Guangzhou and did not make any preparations for war, but british information showed that Yishan actively mobilized troops in Guangzhou and secretly built forts on the Pearl River. However, all the preparations made by Yi Shan and Yang Fang were vulnerable in front of the British army.
When the Qing army was defeated, yang Fangning, who was seventy years old, did not surrender and insisted on commanding the battle at the front line, but Yishan chose to surrender at this time, and then there was the signing of the "Guangzhou Peace Treaty". The loss of power and humiliation of the country is destined to be nailed to the pillar of shame of history, but after the "incompetent generals" in Guangzhou were assigned to Xinjiang by the imperial court, they became "national heroes" again dramatically.
When Qianlong regained Xinjiang, he demanded that the Qing army must capture the two brothers and all their families. Zhaohui fought all the way to present-day Afghanistan, but eventually let one of Yamato's sons escape, and all the riots in Xinjiang since then have stemmed from this fish that slipped through the net.
The Central Asian state of Kokand used the Descendants of Hezhuo as a springboard for invading Xinjiang and constantly funded them to sneak back to Xinjiang to rebel. Yishan's garrison in Kashgar in 1826 coincided with a rebellion by Zhang Ge, a descendant of Zhuo. Due to the long distance, the Qing commanders ChangLing and Yang Yuchun only brought more than 10,000 troops, while Zhang Ge's rebel army in Kashgar had more than 100,000.
The problem faced by the Qing army was not only the large number of opponents, but most importantly, the sandstorm on the battlefield. The civilian official, who was born in a long age, wanted to temporarily retire from the army, but Yang Yuchun resisted the pressure and thought that this was a perfect opportunity to attack the camp. Yishan, who had just made his debut, took the lead in crossing the Hun River as a cavalry vanguard and was the first to enter the city of Kashgar. At the cost of only a few dozen casualties, the Qing army beheaded more than 10,000 people, and disintegrated Zhang Ge's rebellion in one fell swoop.
After this battle, Yang Yuchun left yang chun to continue to sweep away the remnants. Yishan cooperated with Yang Chun to repel the rebels sent by the State of Kokand several times, and finally captured Zhang Ge, who tried to infiltrate the rebellion in Xinjiang again.
After the main force of the Qing army retreated, Yishan was left behind for his outstanding performance. In order to alleviate the financial pressure of the imperial court, Yishan actively surveyed the terrain and reclaimed more than 100,000 mu of fertile land, which greatly reduced the pressure on military grain. Yishan himself was thus promoted to general of Ili within a few years.
Before the Opium War, Yishan was definitely the elite of the imperial family, so with the southeast smoke, he immediately went south to quell the chaos. It's just a pity that the same partner, the same tactics, the enemy into a foreigner but has no effect at all. Because there were no more available people in the imperial family, Yishan was sent to Xinjiang to make meritorious contributions.
Not long after, with the support of the State of Kokand, the "Seven And Zhuo Rebellion" broke out in Xinjiang. The main cities in southern Xinjiang soon fell, and Daoguang hurriedly mobilized soldiers and horses in northern Xinjiang. Yi Shan immediately went south after receiving the order, and after crossing the vast desert, he met the main rebel force in Ingisa. Compared with the previous rebellions, the Kokand State sent all the well-trained elite troops this time, but Yishan was not afraid. He calmly commanded the shotguns and the gunners to shoot alternately, and finally attacked the opposing positions with Manchurian cavalry. Yishan destroyed 30,000 enemy troops at the cost of less than 100 casualties and captured countless supplies.
Yishan, who atonement for his sins, was soon used by the imperial court, and his ability to govern Xinjiang and bind Central Asia was more than enough, but unfortunately, Tsarist Russia soon came again.
