Goat's milk, sausages and enchanting mountains: Why is Heidi still moving for a hundred years? The aesthetic expression of the "beautiful" power film Heidi and Grandpa in the original novel Heidi

author:Devil Shadow Entertainment

The most recently rated film is the German-language film "Heidi and Grandpa", which currently has a douban score of 9.1, which is not only the king of recent word-of-mouth, but also surpasses the previous adaptation of the "Heidi" novel. The new version of Heidi and Grandpa is extremely accurately cast, and the fit with the original is no less than that of Shulan Temple in 1937.

This film can get such a reputation is actually expected. The author believes that this is not because of how good the filming techniques of the film are, how well the script is adapted, but more because of the spirit of the original work and the choice of actors, and the presentation of the alpine field scenery by the cinematography, which is like a dream, so that the audience can more intuitively understand the source of Heidi's nostalgia for the homeland in the original work.

Heidi and Grandpa is based on the children's novel Heidi by Swiss writer Johanna Spielberg, published in 1880 and divided into two parts, Heidi's Learning and Wandering Years and Heidi's Learning to Use, telling the story of Heidi's growing up years and helping Clara get back on her feet.

Before talking about this film, we may wish to understand some of the faces of the original novel - the reason why "Heidi" has been able to circulate for a hundred years is that I think it is pure as children's literature, this novel contains full of kindness and gentleness, full of personality, extremely vivid characters, and the author's enthusiastic introduction to the Alpine and pastoral beauty.

The author praises this pastoral life. In her pen, the original food of goat's milk and meat sausages plus the free world in the wild has the effect of healing people's bodies and minds, and Heidi's relationship with her grandfather and Clara can also go to each other in this paradise.

"Beautiful" is the overall style of Heidi's work, rather than an interpretation of a single plot.

From this point of view, "Heidi" takes the concept of her children's literature to the extreme, and the children who read it will certainly appreciate the goodwill of this work - we will be moved by Heidi's gradual softening of her grandfather's hurt heart; we will be excited to get Clara back on her feet; we will have a natural respect for the wise and enlightened Grandma Clara; and we will also find interesting kindness in housekeepers and doctors.

When Heidi finally brings soft bread to Grandma Peter, the children will surely be touched by this love as well.

The author has a strong personal feeling for this novel. When I was more than ten years old, I once borrowed a young version of Heidi from the library in the town, read it many times, and still have a copy at home.

I even think that this book has a positive impact on my moral concept and the choice between good and evil.

Of course, a hundred years have passed, and from today's point of view, the novel "Heidi" is of course limited:

Heidi represents Europe's view of children's education more than a hundred years ago– first of all, it is a novel heavily influenced by Christianity, and the book is so pious that it is touching, and the choice of grandfather's ending and the image of the priest are all the same. Many of the conversations, limited by the social context of the time, were also markedly slightly out of place, and the goodwill of the aristocratic gentry class described in the book was less universal.

First of all, I think that the most successful point of "Heidi and Grandpa" lies in the casting and styling. The characters in this film are almost all close to the image I imagined, and the director cleverly grasped the tiny "foothold" of the characters.

Heidi's curly hair and sunny grin; pale, blonde, thin, beautiful Clara; Grandpa's dirty beard and thick and thin personality; Peter, who looks a bit stupid... There are also male servants, Clara's grandmother, housekeepers and other roles are equally plump and three-dimensional, interesting.

Judging from the movie picture, this version is even more peak, the blue sky and endless grass, the deep blue lake spread on the ground reflects the majestic mountains, and the tone is extremely fresh and bright, basically blameless.

Not only that, the director also pays great attention to the transformation of light and shadow in the arrangement of the lens. There are no screenshots, but do the audience remember that when Heidi first arrived at Clara's house, the light and shadow inside and outside the door when she opened the door emphasized——

The director's shot deliberately exaggerates the darkness inside the gate to create an old, orderly, and heavy atmosphere; Heidi's constant attempt to open the window to bring light is actually her embodiment of the subtle influence of the home:

We slowly discover that the serious-looking male servant and the unconcerned maid have finally become so interesting and cute, and the stereotypical Miss Lotmayer is actually not so bad.

At the same time, this light also implies the contradiction between freedom and rules. Heidi's homesickness eventually turned into sleepwalking, and she kept walking toward the door to open it and back to her room.

Judging from the combination of plot and picture, "Heidi and Grandpa" is a very exquisite movie, which is very suitable for viewing in the cinema.

Moreover, the film also omits the deliberately emphasized Christian influence of the original work, and many of the dialogues and plots in the original work that are limited to the background of the times have also been deleted.

Of course, there are regrets - there are many dialogues between Grandpa, Grandma Peter and Grandma Clara that are meaningful, but the film can't show them all, limited by a 100-minute length, "Heidi and Grandpa" can only focus on the main storyline, which also simplifies the glamorous grandpa in the original work. But there isn't much that can be done about it.

In short, this is a literary adaptation of the film without any shelves. I even think that this movie is an excellent choice for parents to take their children to see - because at the heart of the original work, the extremely pure light and beauty are not lost, the strong, kind and soft emotions are consistent, and with the almost perfect scenery presentation, it is not surprising that it can get a high score of more than 9.
