After trial, it was ascertained that between 2011 and 2019, defendant Liu Jun took advantage of his position as deputy captain and captain of the public security brigade of the Shushan Branch of the Hefei Municipal Public Security Bureau to repeatedly accept bribes totaling RMB229,000 from others.

The court held that: Defendant Liu Jun, as a public security officer, took advantage of his position to illegally accept a total of 229,000 yuan in property from others, providing assistance to others, and the amount was huge, and his behavior obviously violated the criminal law and constituted the crime of accepting bribes. During the period when defendant Liu Jun was investigated by the Supervision Organs for his violations of law and discipline, he voluntarily confessed the facts of the crime of accepting bribes that the Supervision Organs had not yet grasped, which is voluntary surrender, and may be given a mitigated punishment in accordance with law; the defendant has returned all the illegal gains and voluntarily paid a fine in advance, which may be given a lenient punishment as appropriate; and the defendant may be given a lenient treatment if he voluntarily admits guilt and accepts punishment.
