Beijing, 12 Feb (Xinhua) -- The website of the Supervision Department of the Central Discipline Inspection Commission announced on 12 February: With the approval of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection recently filed and examined Liu Jun, a former member of the CPPCC leading group and vice chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, for serious violations of discipline.

After investigation, Liu Jun violated political discipline and resisted organizational scrutiny; violated the spirit of the eight provisions of the central authorities, entered and exited private clubs in violation of regulations, accepted arrangements from private business owners to play golf, and used public funds to pay personal expenses; violated organizational discipline and did not truthfully explain problems when organizing conversations and inquiries; violated honesty and discipline, used his power to seek private interests, accepted gifts and gifts, and connived and acquiesced in his son's use of the influence of his position to seek private interests. In accordance with the "Regulations on Disciplinary Punishment of the Communist Party of China" and other relevant provisions, after the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Central Discipline Inspection Commission studied and reported to the CPC Central Committee for approval, it was decided to give Liu Jun the punishment of expulsion from the party and administrative dismissal, and demote him to a non-leading post at the deputy department level; and confiscate his income from discipline violations.
