□ Top News Dahe Newspaper reporter Shao Keqiang went to figure

In the primary school text "Young Leaping Earth", Mr. Lu Xun's scene of "Leaping Earth and Chá" is impressive. Recently, in a residential area in Zhengzhou City, firefighters actually caught an animal similar to "Ru". Before being sent to the Henan Wildlife Rescue Center, it actually "escaped twice" from the cage, but fortunately the firefighters caught it back again.

What kind of animal is "Monkey"? What are the animals that appear in the residential areas? Is there a relationship between the two? The reporter of the Grand River Newspaper conducted an interview and asked for verification.

Animals similar to "猹" appear in downtown residential areas

At 16:29 on August 30, the command center of the Zhengzhou Fire Rescue Detachment received an alarm from citizens that in the Santa Fe City community at the intersection of Xuzhai Road and Qudong Road in Jinshui District, a resident broke into an animal at home and needed rescue. After receiving the alarm, the second station of the special service brigade of the Zhengzhou Fire Rescue Detachment rushed to the scene to deal with it.

According to the policeman's description, the animal looked strange: similar to a wild boar but with a long tail and hair. It broke into the home through the basement window and scurried around. And there are also attacks.

In the resident's home, firefighters worked together to drive the animal to a corner, using woven bags to trap and control it. It was then brought back to the fire brigade and loaded into an iron cage.

What people did not expect was that the animal was fierce, the claws were sharp nails, and after being trapped in the cage, it used its mouth and claws to "disassemble" the iron cage and flee. Subsequently, they fled around on the road, and the firefighters had to make a second arrest.

Gao Yuan, the instructor of the second station of the special service brigade of the Zhengzhou Fire Rescue Detachment, told reporters that it drilled into the bushes and under the car for a while, and ran into the debris pile for a while, when many team members participated in the chase and interception, and finally used plastic buckets to catch it.

Initial identification was made that the animal was a species of badger. Some citizens also said that this animal looked very similar to the "Monkey" caught by the "leap soil".

Subsequently, the animal was sent to the Henan Provincial Wildlife Rescue Center.

This animal is a pig badger, and the "badger" is a badger

"In the deep blue sky hung a golden full moon, and below the sandy ground by the sea, there was an endless green watermelon, and in the middle of it was an eleven- or twelve-year-old boy with a silver ring and a steel fork in his hand, and stabbed as hard as he could at a horse, but the horse twisted his body and escaped from under his crotch."

This passage in the primary school text "Young Leaping Earth" makes many people still remember the story of "Zhou Shuren, Leaping Earth and Yu" after N years, and even created a lot of stems. Some netizens said that the "猹" caught by the "leap soil" is actually a kind of badger. Because in The Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions of China, there is indeed the existence of this animal.

So, what are the animals that firefighters catch? What is the difference between it and "猹"?

Dong Chaowei, director of the Wildlife Rescue Station of the Zhengzhou Forestry Bureau, said in an interview that after identification, the animal was a pig badger, and whether it belonged to the wild needed further confirmation. Pig badgers, also known as sand badgers and mountain badgers, are omnivorous animals with a fierce temperament, like burrowing, and good nocturnal activities.

Dong Chaowei further explained that the "badger" should be a badger, although they are all badgers, but they are still different.

The pig badger, with a pig-like tubular nose, has a wide white hair from the tip of the nose to the top of the head, and two thin white hairs on the cheeks; the dog badger, the three white hairs on the face are very wide, and the mouth is pointed.

Is the pig badger a national second-class protected animal?

The reporter noted that some media reported that "the wild pig badger is a national second-level protected animal and has been included in the IUCN 2008 Red List of Threatened Species." However, some netizens said that it belongs to the national "three haves" protected animals. In the face of different statements, the Reporter of Dahe Daily interviewed relevant people from the Henan Wildlife Rescue Center, who made it clear that according to the newly revised "List of Terrestrial Wild Animals with Important Ecological, Scientific and Social Value Protected by the State" (hereinafter referred to as the "Three Lists"), the pig badger belongs to the national "three haves" protected animals.

At the same time, the Henan Wildlife Rescue Center did receive the badger sent by firefighters, and the center has checked whether it is injured, and carried out breeding observation, and later confirmed that it has no problems and will be released.

Why do badgers appear in urban areas? The above-mentioned interviewees said that on the one hand, this shows that the ecological environment of Zhengzhou is getting better and better, and on the other hand, it also proves that the public's awareness of protecting animals has increased.
