Perhaps it was his father's last words that stimulated Shuisheng, who worked desperately to save money, pleaded with the landlord, and begged his son Zhang Gui for a chance to read with the son of the local lord.
Zhang Gui was intelligent, but unfortunately after only two years of study, his father, who had accumulated hard work, passed away. Zhang Gui, who was only a teenager, had to leave private school and rely on working as a tenant to support his family.
The familiar trajectory of life seems to indicate that Zhang Gui will become a "leap soil" again.
Fortunately, the cannibalistic society has ended, and Zhang Gui and others have come to the founding of New China. Beginning in 1950, New China carried out a large-scale literacy campaign. For a time, many intellectual young people from the city responded to the call to go to the mountains and countryside to eliminate illiteracy.
With the help of these intellectual youths, Zhang Gui successfully escaped his illiterate status. In February 1954, the party organization learned about the relationship between Zhang Gui's grandfather Leap Earth and Mr. Lu Xun, and specially arranged for Zhang Gui to work at the Lu Xun Memorial Hall.
Zhang Gui, who loves to read, read all the works of Mr. Lu Xun, and he thought that if his grandfather could read and write, he would definitely do the same.
In the memorial hall, Zhang Gui met Mr. Lu Xun's son Zhou Haiying. Zhou Haiying expressed to Zhang Gui that Lu Xun missed the leap soil before he died.
Later, they moved around a lot, and although they were one generation apart, this did not prevent the two from becoming friends.
