Approaching the Museum: Yu Shenxing's Annals Album
Pingyin County Museum is located in the County Capital Qianjie County Xuewen Temple, as the guardian, successor and disseminator of Pingyin local history and culture, it undertakes the functions of collection, collection, research, restoration, protection and utilization of immovable cultural relics in the county. At present, the museum has 1776 pieces (sets) of cultural relics in 8 categories of bronze, porcelain, pottery, calligraphy and painting, stone carvings and inscriptions of the past dynasties, ancient books, jade and miscellaneous items. These precious cultural relics truly reflect the splendor and splendor of Pingyin's history and culture.
Yu Shenxing (1545-1608), with no dirt and no dirt, and the word can be far away, the number of Gu Shan, also known as Gu Feng, known as Yu Gelao, the county seat of Dong'a County (now Dong'a Town, Pingyin County, Shandong Province), the official to Dongge University, is the most prestigious cultural celebrity in the history of our county, and he has been respected by the government and the public throughout his life with his solid, loyal, and upright character. He was a famous politician, writer and historian of the late Ming Dynasty.
This portrait of Yu Shenxing is 160 cm long and 98 cm wide. The portrait is colored on silk. Yu Shenxing wore a black veil on his head, dressed in a big red official uniform, embroidered with four-clawed golden dragons, tied a jade belt around his waist, stepped on his boots, and sat on a chair, with dignified features, a majestic face, and a long gray hair, quite a vicissitudes. The author of the portrait is Jin Sheng, a painter from Shaoxing, Zhejiang, and the author of Yu Shenxing's Annals.
Yu Shenxing personally wrote a two-page preface to the album and annotated the drawings. In the fifty-seventh year of the Qianlong Dynasty (壬子, 1792), Zhang Jin, a bannerman of the Han Army, served as ZhiXian of Dong'a County, and after seeing the painting, he thought it was rare, ordered it to be solemnly revised, and wrote a preface for it, and personally inscribed the seal of "Yu Wending GongNian Genealogy of the Scholar of Dongge University of the Ming Dynasty Wanli, Zhang Jin of ZhiXian County, Tai'an Province, Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty". In the twenty-first year of Jiaqing, Feng Yunhu, a famous epigrapher who was then the Ling of Ziyang County (present-day Yanzhou), traveled to Dong'a, visited Yu Shenxing's hometown, and after seeing the "Pictorial Notation", he asked him to register it in the office, worship it, and write an inscription for it.
In the inscription of the album, Yu Shenxing wrote: "Biography, from childhood to old age, all kinds of appearances and crowns, and the situations encountered, a total of thirty-six paintings, collected into one volume." There are 23 existing painting pages in the museum, 1 seal book "Dongge Yiguan" on the title page, 1 inscription on the cover zhang Jin, 2 inscriptions on Yu Shenxing, 6 text descriptions, 2 prefaces to Zhang Jinshu, and 1 inscription by Feng Yunhu. The album is a treasure of the Ming Dynasty, which concentrates the authentic works of four celebrities and vividly summarizes the life of Yu Shenxing, a scholar of Dongge University, the crown of literature of a generation.
Yu Shenxing was intelligent and studious since childhood, and it is said that when he was ten years old, he studied at Hong Fan Dongliu Academy, and his family and book children accompanied him to Yanzhou to participate in the scientific expedition presided over by the provincial school administration. Passing through a peach orchard, when the peach blossoms were in full bloom, He folded a branch and played all the way to the examination room, he was reluctant to discard it, so he hid the peach blossom in his sleeve. It just so happened that the exam title of the day was "Peach Blossom Endowment", and it was prudent to act in the middle. So Yu Shenxing waved his pen and was the first to hand in the examination papers. When a teenager raised his hand to hand over the papers, he got up and leaned over to pick them up, caught a glimpse of the peach blossoms in his sleeves, and read in passing: "Elementary school students, peach blossoms on the sleeves, hidden spring colors." Shen Xing knew that Xue Zheng was testing himself, and he made a clever move, gave a deep salute, and replied: "Old man, sit in a high hall and see what is going on." Xuezheng was impressed by the talent of the young Shenxing, and directly wrote the word "Zhong" on the scroll, and the ten-year-old Yu Shenxing made an exception and approved to go to the province to participate in the college examination for the selection of Kusheng.
When Yu Shenxing was serving as the emperor's daily lecturer, once after Yu Shenxing's lecture was completed, the crown prince took out the imperial collection of calligraphy and paintings, and ordered the lecturers to give poetry inscriptions. Yu Shen did not do good deeds, and after the poem was completed, he asked someone to write the question on his behalf and played it in reality. Crown Prince Jia Qicheng immediately gave it the imperial letter "rebuking Chen Shan". Therefore, there was the "Emperor Xi Xuanlu" workshop built in front of his tomb, which was engraved with the four words of the Wanli Imperial Book, "Rebuke Chen Shan".
Back in his hometown, which is now the village of Yaqian in Dong'a Town, Pingyin County, Yu Shenxing's depressed mood suddenly became extremely relaxed, and the Wolf Creek River water formed by the convergence of Hongfan springs slowly flowed through his house, which made him happy and forget his worries. He took it as his own business to cultivate and read the countryside, swim in the landscape, and devote himself to writing, and wrote poems: "How far have you dreamed, and from then on, you have closed the door." It is not like the end of the south road, depending on the world. He built another dwelling place and wrote comfortably: "After returning to the four walls, it is still the same, and Bu Zhu Taoyuan has another heaven." Plant trees and move PengZe willows, buy mountains and old water to balance money. "Yu Shen's behavior is highly respected, and during the period of Liju, colleagues in the capital and officials from all sides who passed through Dong'a, all of them made a lot of money to ask for advice. Among the colleagues who had deep contacts were Shen Li, Zhu Keda, Feng Qi, Jia Shikui, Ye Xianggao, Xing Tong, Xiao Xiao Taixiang and more than ten others, and the "Annals of Yu Shenxing" Yun: "However, with relatives and friends, they put meat five seven products in their lives, outside the garden pond, and swim in the landscape; Lotus, fishing in the south of the city. "
In the thirty-fifth year of the Wanli Calendar (1607), the Eastern Palace had been established, the state was determined, and the cabinet minister was pushed by the court, and Yu Shenxing was ranked first among the seven people. Emperor Shenzong ordered him to join the cabinet as a former official and crown prince Shaobao and a scholar of Dongge University. However, Yu Shenxing, who was 63 years old at the time, was already seriously ill and reluctantly went to Beijing to enter the gurudwara. He died shortly after the official residence in Jinghua. After Yu Shenxing's death, the Wanli Emperor gave the crown prince Taibao, Yuwen Ding, and built a cemetery in Hongfanchi to repay the teacher's kindness, and personally gave 63 whitebark pine trees to guard the tomb for the teacher. To this day, more than 36 whitebark pine trees still stand in the forest, silently guarding the tranquility of this side.
Yu Shenxing's annals album is the spiritual wealth of Yu Shenxing's life, and it is also a treasure left to us by history, which has a high ornamental value.
Intelligent and studious, open-minded, loyal and peaceful is the true portrayal of Yu Shenxing, although his life was not smooth, but he was frank, upright, sincere, and left to the world with countless literary achievements.
