Emperor Dezong of Tang (李) (27 May 742 – 25 February 805) was the eldest son of Emperor Li Yu of tang and the ninth emperor of the Tang dynasty.

In May of the first year of Guangde (763), Emperor Gongzong of Tang succeeded to the throne and made his eldest son Li Shi the Grand Marshal of terracotta warriors and horses and the king of Lu. During this period, Li Shi Na wang clan was his wife. Soon after the marriage, he gave birth to Tang Shunzong Li Shu. Li Shi was very happy.
In the fourteenth year of the Gregorian calendar (779), after the death of Emperor Daizong and the ascension of Li Shi to the throne, he made Wang Shi a concubine, ranking first among all concubines, and exercised the power of empress. A few years later, the Jingyuan army broke out within the Tang court, the rebellious generals occupied Chang'an, and Dezong Cangchao fled to Qianxian County, Shaanxi. When Dezong was looking for The Jade Seal, the Jade Seal was gone. It turned out that because cangqi escaped and forgot the jade seal, Wang Shufei took out the great seal and solved the urgent need, which Dezong praised her endlessly. Due to the running in the years after leaving Chang'an, especially the death of her daughter after she was born, it hit her very hard. After returning to Chang'an, he fell ill.
In November of the second year of Zhenyuan (786), Emperor Dezong announced that Wang Shufei was made empress, and the coronation ceremony was very solemn, and the sick empress Wang breathed and met with the hundred officials. However, as soon as the grand coronation ceremony came to an end, the queen died. Dezong was deeply saddened, and then a solemn funeral was held for her. She was given the title of "Empress Zhaode".
In the first year of Yongzhen (805), it was changed to Chongling.

The next emperor of Emperor Dezong of Tang was Emperor Shunzong of Tang.
In 805, Emperor Dezong of Tang died, and the crown prince Li Xuan succeeded him as Emperor Shunzong of Tang. In August of the same year, he gave the throne to the crown prince Li Chun and proclaimed himself Emperor Taishang.
