Liu Chang of the Northern Song Dynasty, the original father of the character, was a historian and essayist of the Northern Song Dynasty. His articles and knowledge have been repeatedly praised by Ouyang Xiu, Wang Anshi, Su Shi, and Zeng Gong, who are ranked among the eight great masters. It is a temporary "cow".

In the sixth year of the celebration calendar, the two brothers participated in the temple examination together, and it happened that Wang Yaochen participated in the examination work (as a choreographer). Who is Wang Yaochen? He is also a scholar - Tiansheng Five-Year Ding Di Ke Yuan, and more importantly, he is Liu Chang's brother-in-law!
Wang Yaochen is not responsible for proctoring the examination, but he is responsible for unsealing. When he opened the first exam paper of the court, he froze on the spot. The full score essay was actually written by his brother-in-law. It is said that it should be happy - Uncle Lang double yuan, science field good story! But I don't know for what purpose -- he said it was to avoid suspicion, but even Emperor Renzong said, you don't invigiate the examination and change the paper, you don't have your responsibility -- Wang Zhuangyuan insisted on not letting his brother-in-law be the champion.
As a result, Liu Chang had to relegate to second place. In fact, I think the most lost should be Mrs. Liu Chang. Learners, nerds also, but Liu Chang is different. He is not only deeply learned, but also has a wide range of knowledge, and he can apply what he has learned. Ouyang Xiu admired this.

What kind of person was Ouyang Xiu at that time? Literary leader. And in terms of age, he was a full round older than Liu Chang, and he was a 12-year-old sheep.
However, when Ouyang Xiu encountered difficulties in learning, the first thing that came to his mind was Liu Chang. And Liu Chang was not modest, when he saw the letter of inquiry sent by Ouyang Xiu, he immediately replied, waved his pen, and never let the messenger stay for two cups of tea. Put it now, baidu must know the existence of the god level.
Ouyang Xiu wrote a story about Liu Chang's envoy to the Khitans. Roughly speaking, the Khitan people wanted to exaggerate and exaggerate in front of this great scholar and deliberately lead him to the detours of the Khitan country. Liu Chang knew the twists and turns in the Hearts of the Khitans--small samples, thinking that he had not studied geography well? Drop the next sentence: Go as I say, close! Based on the respect for the cattle people, the relationship between Ouyang Xiu and Liu Chang was very good. How good is it? Feng Menglong recorded an anecdote in "Ancient and Modern Laughter", which can reflect the relationship between the two from the side:

Ouyang Xiu married two Xue clans as sisters. One day, Liu Chang chatted with Ouyang Xiu and said:
Once upon a time, an old gentleman taught his students to read the Book of Poetry, and read "wēi yí" and read "wēi yí", and some students read the original sound of snakes. The old man was angry and said, "The snake should be pronounced as the sound of the aunt!" Read your skin carefully again!
Seeing Ouyang Xiu's expression of "what's next", Liu Chang continued:
The next day, the student saw hanako playing with snakes, late, and the gentleman asked what was going on. The student replied that on the way, he saw a person who wanted to eat playing "aunt", first playing the big "aunt" and then playing the small "aunt", so he was late.

There was a reason why Liu chang lost Ouyang Xiu. Liu Chang remarried in his later years, and Ouyang Xiu wrote a poem to ridicule him:
The Immortal Family has a long life, and the floating world is busy with the sun and the moon.
The peach blossoms in the cave are smiling, Liu Lang is now old Liu Lang.
This poem clearly uses Liu Yuxi's "Revisiting xuanduguan" to "Where do the peach Taoists return?" The former Liu Lang is here again" Is a classic, secretly teasing Liu Chang's "pear blossom begonia" like old and young match. Ordinary people still know, how can the erudite Liu Yuan's father not know? ——Supposedly, your uncle, do you want to write this thing or not? So he worked hard and waited for an opportunity to retaliate, only to embarrass Lao Ou.
From the above elegance, we can see that the relationship between the two can now be called "lost friends", a very iron kind.
After Liu Chang's death, Ouyang Xiu personally wrote an epitaph for his old friend. Commenting on his erudition:
Yu Xuebo, from the Six Classics, Baishi, ancient and modern biographies, down to astronomy, geography, medicine, numerology, floating charts, Lao Zhuang zhizhi, everything is known.
He also mentioned liu's old mission to the Khitan as evidence, which is the paragraph mentioned above. This incident later entered the History of Song with Liu Chang.
Liu Chang's poetry is excellent, and Ouyang Xiuduo has sung and written with him, which can be described as a moment of YuLiang. It's just that he finally couldn't reach the fame of Ouyang Xiu's literary leader, and many people in later generations regretted for him.
