In 1914, Chen Yonggui was born in a very poor family in Xiyang, Shanxi, due to the compulsion of life, his father Chen Zhiru sold his daughter, wife and young son, and finally had to flee to Dazhai with Chen Yonggui, who was only five years old, but in the following year, Chen Zhiru was hanged because of his resentment in his heart, and the world chose to hang himself and died.
Chen Yonggui, who was young and lost, made a living by herding cattle for the people in Dazhai, and he once found his mother and sister, but they were unable to raise Chen Yonggui, so he had no choice but to return to Dazhai at the age of 11. In his youth, Chen Yonggui played a role in conveying information for the Eighth Route Army in the people, and was once captured by the Japanese, but eventually escaped and left a small life.
Subsequently, Chen Yonggui's relationship with the Eighth Route Army grew closer, and he joined the Communist Party of China in 1948, and has been in charge of its agricultural production affairs in Dazhai Village ever since.
In 1963, Dazhai suffered an unprecedented crisis, when the arrival of two winds and floods alone made the local residents miserable, not alone, followed by frost, hail and drought, but under the leadership of Chen Yonggui, the local villagers were full of confidence in rebuilding their homes, self-reliant and hardworking.
At that time, Dazhai Village achieved an unprecedented harvest, completely exceeding the original production target of that year, and for a while, Chen Yonggui, who was in charge of agricultural affairs here, became famous, and this also attracted the attention of many provincial leaders, including Tao Ludi, who was then the secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee.
After Dazhai became a model of agriculture, Chen Yonggui's deeds spread to the Central Committee of China through Tao Ludi, and a wave of "learning from Dazhai" was set off all over the country, chen Yonggui was also favored by the central leadership for his contributions, and was elected as a deputy to the People's Congress.
Chen Yonggui's life is full of ups and downs, but he has always been self-reliant, tenacious and tenacious, and his success is inseparable from the support of his family, especially his wife Song Yulin.
Song Yulin is not Chen Yonggui's original match, the two were originally married, but a widow, a widow, under the introduction of friends, the two married and formed a re-equipped family. When the family was first formed, Chen Yonggui was still in an important position, and he and Song Yulin could be described as a door-to-door match, and both of them were local labor models.

In 1985, Chen Yonggui was found to have lung cancer, but he thought that cancer was difficult to cure, in order not to waste state property, he preferred to give up treatment, and even began to take care of his own affairs, Chen Yonggui bluntly said that what he could not put down the most was his wife and young son, he originally hoped that he could live for a few more years, had the opportunity to watch his younger son go to college and become the first college student in the family, but the day did not go according to people's wishes.
After twenty years of cadre career, Chen Yonggui's savings were only more than 8,000 yuan, and he even wanted to hand over all this money as party fees, but finally gave up under the thwart of his wife.
Just a year after being diagnosed with pneumonia, Chen Yonggui died in the spring of 1986 at the age of 72, and Song Yulin received deep care from the local party organization as his widow. After her husband's death, Song Yulin has always missed him very much, often narrating what happened around him in front of his posthumous photos, as if he were often with him.
Later, Song Yulin has been living in Beijing, but she always misses her hometown dazhai with Chen Yonggui very much, and whenever a relative comes to visit her from Shanxi, she will always go out of her way to ask the other party about the current development of Dazhai, and after getting a positive reply, she is very happy.
On December 26, 2014, Chen Yonggui's centenary birthday celebration was held at the Shanxi Dazhai Memorial Hall, accompanied by two sons, Song Yulin sat in a wheelchair to present a flower basket for her husband's statue, at this time she was nearly ninety years old, full of children and grandchildren, life was plain and happy.
