There were originally three pots of ancient bonsai of the Ming Dynasty in Jiangsu Province, one pot each in Yangzhou and Suzhou, due to the difficulty of maintenance, management and pot replacement technology, they have all withered and died, and only one pot in Taizhou remains. "This is the first since the establishment of the Bonsai Garden in 1953." Li Zhifeng, head of the Taizhou Bonsai R&D Center, said. It is understood that during the "Cultural Revolution", "Guo Ziyi belt on the dynasty" was almost destroyed. At that time, the bonsai master Wang Shoushan depoted it and planted it as an ordinary tree in a Chinese herbal flower garden, and the bonsai survived. Later, the bonsai was no different from ordinary trees. In the 1980s, the bonsai was placed in a concrete poured basin, but it has not grown well and has long been infested with insect pests. "At that time, no one dared to do styling, as long as they could survive." Li Zhifeng said. After years of meticulous care, "Guo Ziyi belt up the dynasty" has become more and more robust. In 2012, after careful research, the Taizhou Bonsai R&D Center moved the bonsai to a rockery in the park, formulated a pot replacement plan, determined the maintenance method, and finally successfully replaced the bonsai pot.
Taizhou (Yangpai) Bonsai Exhibition Hall is the treasure of the town hall, and the only surviving Pot of Ming Dynasty Gubai Bonsai in Jiangsu
"We are the key protection of the bonsai, special monitoring, observation for nearly two years, from the perspective of growth, now the time is ripe for styling." Li Zhifeng said. Li Zhifeng told reporters that at present, the shape of the bonsai is only the initial type, and it still needs two or three years of observation and polishing to truly become a fine product of Yangpai bonsai.
Inheritance style Typical Yangpai technique cut tie
In the Taizhou Bonsai R&D Center, the branches of "Guo Ziyi Belt Upward Facing" are lush and vibrant, and the two stumps are large and small, and the trees are vigorous and curved. Cao Jide, the inheritor of the Yangpai Bonsai in Jiangsu's provincial intangible cultural heritage, said that the name "Guo Ziyi Belt Shangchao" was taken according to the shape of the tree stumps. Guo Ziyi's belt is "round cypress, about 2.5 meters long and about 1.5 meters high, with brown line tied to the traction shape, and each tree stump is divided into several "cloud pieces", accompanied by Yingde stone, which increases the sense of balance in the whole bonsai. From a distance, the clouds seem to spew out from the mountains, and the overall picture is both stable and ethereal. Cao Jide said that this cut has traditionally adopted typical Yangpai bonsai techniques such as "Rolling Dragon Bay", "Cloud Piece" and "Brown Line".
Ensuring safety Progressive "loosening the bones"
Although the current growth is good, after all, after nearly 500 years of wind and rain, "Guo Ziyi belt up to the dynasty" is equivalent to an old man with loose bones, and ensuring the safety of bonsai is the most important. During the cutting process of more than half a month, Cao Jide, his colleagues and disciples often cooperated with many people. One person holds the branch, and the other slowly pulls it, making the branch bend. "It's like a person, you can't pull hard, you need to gradually loosen your bones." Cao Jide told reporters that due to the large size of the bonsai, twisting the branches is a very laborious task, "one of the large branches, two people cooperated, it took five days." ”
"In addition, in addition to the traditional technique, the 'branch cutting' technique was creatively adopted in this shearing." Cao Jide said. The so-called branching is to dissect and separate some of the thicker branches first, and then carry out traction modeling, so as to avoid the branches being broken.

There is a folklore behind this ancient pot of bonsai
According to legend, during the Ming Chongzhen period, Taixing produced a donkey with the surname Ji Zhen (季名真) and the nickname Ji Sanzi (季三诨子). Ji Ma is talented and has done a lot of things for the people of his hometown. The imperial court issued a lot of tax orders, and even tree planting was taxed. In order to reduce taxes for the people in his hometown, Ji Ma thought of a way. He took the best persimmons and went to Beijing to offer them to the emperor, and the emperor felt very good when he ate them, so he said to Ji Ma, "You will bring me more persimmons in the future." Ji Ma said, "No, now persimmon trees have to be taxed, and they can't afford to plant!" So the emperor ordered: "All persimmon trees do not report taxes." Ji Ma cleverly changed it to "all trees do not report taxes", so Taixing lost a tax. Ji Ma was an official in the dynasty and had to see the emperor every day. One morning, when the emperor was in front of the palace, the hundred officials of the civil and military forces were waiting for the court, the prince was kicking the shuttlecock, and the hundred officials of the civil and military forces were talking about it, saying that the prince did not do his job properly and could not take over the emperor's class in the future, but he did not dare to say it in front of the emperor. In the early morning of this day, Ji Qi immediately prelude to the book: "Emperor Qi, someone is holding a red hair and kicking the national name, what is the crime?" The emperor dictated, "Be chopped! The shuttlecock kicked by the prince was made of feathers and copper coins, and the copper coins were cast with the national name. The crown prince was beheaded, the imperial court was shaken, and since then a mantra has been widely circulated: "Ji Qi immediately moves towards the earth, and the earth shakes the mountain." Afterwards, the emperor angered Ji's horses and ordered them to be charged. Ji Ma made two demands on the emperor: First, the army could not reach Yanling Town and Black Pine Forest (Yanling Town is now Taixing City, And Black Pine Forest is now Huangqiao Town), because mosquitoes there are like sparrows and will bite people to death. The second is to ask for a few souvenirs to relieve the feelings of missing the princess. The emperor decreed: "We must go to Yanling Town and the Black Pine Forest to fill the army, and do not allow items with royal emblems to leave the palace." The princess did not dare to disobey the emperor's will. In fact, Ji Tuoma had already planned in his heart, and going to the black pine forest in Yanling Town was his hometown. Items without the royal emblem can bring back to his hometown the bonsai he admires, and this bonsai of cooper is the first choice of the season horse. Since then, this pot of ancient cypress bonsai has grown strongly in Taixing, and then lost to the folk, cultivated and cut by Wang Shoushan's grandparents and fathers, although after hundreds of years of wind and rain, vigorous vitality, vigorous branches, beautiful shape, dragon flying phoenix dance trend, because of longevity and leafy, later named "Guo Ziyi belt on the dynasty".
