Before the Sydney Olympics, the Dream Team was like a myth, making all opponents cry without tears, but at the Sydney Olympic Games, a magical boy named Jaskovius made people believe that the Dream Team was no longer a myth. Four years later in Athens, Jaskovius was uncompromising and gave Dream Six a defeat. The "King of Europe" made everyone remember his name.

Interestingly, Jaskovius grew up as a player in the United States. Jaskovius came to the United States at an early age. During high school he attended Solanco High School in Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, he went to the University of Maryland. In college, Jaskovius had a good performance, averaging 10.6 points per game in his junior year, and his average of points per game increased to 12.4 points in his senior year. It is somewhat regrettable that Jaskovius did not get the favor of the NBA team. At the 1998 draft, the Lithuanian wonder boy was named Sun Shan.
Sadly, Jaskovius returned to Lithuania to join Letavos. A year later, Jaskovy hughes moved to the Slovenian league and joined Olympia. Jaskovius was a success in Europe, becoming not only an absolute mainstay of the club, but also a member of the Lithuanian national team.
At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Jaskovy Hughes represented Lithuania. In the group stage, Lithuania beat China, New Zealand, Italy and France in a row. In the final match of the group stage, Lithuania faced the United States. That year's U.S. team gathered Carter, Payton, Kidd, Garnett, Houston and other big names, and they all beat their opponents by a large margin in the first four games of the group stage. But against Lithuania, the U.S. team did not win easily, winning only 85-76.
What the U.S. team did not expect was that Lithuania caused them even more trouble in the knockout rounds. Lithuania qualified as second in the group and in the quarter-finals they beat Yugoslavia 76-63. Jaskovius contributed 18 points in the game. In the semi-finals, Lithuania once again met the United States, and Jaskovius's performance was even more courageous.
The U.S. also led by 12 points in the first half, 48-36. But in the second half, Lithuania went on a wild ride, playing a 20-4 climax. In the final 16 minutes, the difference between the two teams never exceeded four points. Jaskovius became a nightmare for the U.S. team in this game, scoring 27 points, including hitting five three-pointers. In the final moments, the magic boy almost let the American team lose the game.
In the final 5.2 seconds, McDyce jumped the ball illegally, and after repeated anomalies, Lithuania took possession of the ball, 85-83, and the United States only led by two points. Jaskovius got the ball and shot from outside the three-point line! In this game, he has scored 27 points, which is the best player in the game. The U.S. players stared in unison at the ball that swirled from Jaskovius's fingertips, and horror was written on everyone's face. The ball hit the front of the basket and bounced to the left, not in! The American team won. "If the goal is scored, we won't have a good second half of our lives," Ray Allen said after the game.
The feud between Jaskovius and the U.S. team is not over. Four years later in Athens, the Wonder Boy was once again a nightmare for Team USA. The two sides met in the group stage, and Jaskovius became even more ferocious, scoring 28 points on 7-of-12 three-pointers to lead Lithuania to a 94-90 victory over Dream Six. The two teams met again in the bronze medal battle, with the United States winning 104-96 and Jaskovius scoring 17 points in the match. It is worth mentioning that Jaskovius is also the assist king of the Athens Olympic Games, he averaged 5.6 assists per game, ranking first in the assists list.
It is a pity that the hero who is famous in The European Arena and the International Arena is very unhappy in the NBA. In the NBA he played for the Pacers and then the Warriors, but the performance was not good. "It was the darkest days of my career," Jaskovius said. The European king returned to Europe in 2007 to play for Greek giants Panaysinakos, and he was rejuvenated.
Now, Jaskovius, who has returned to his native Lithuania to teach basketball, is also smooth sailing and shining, wishing him good luck.
