The Piano Sonata in B minor is a landmark work in the literature of piano music. Like Liszt's symphonic poems, it departs from the multi-movement tradition of sonatas, but greatly expands the connotation of sonatas within a single movement, with difficult techniques and complex musical thoughts. And Wang Yujia is one of the few polymaths among many young pianists today.
