The word "whistleblowing" is different from "breaking news". The so-called "breaking news" is basically to make some fancy news for celebrities, often used for satire or negative effects; However, "reporting" means something else.

According to the Modern Chinese Dictionary, "reporting materials": pointing to the media to provide news leads.

Here, I don't want to evaluate the previous period of the conductor's admiration and bowing to Wang Yujia, nor do I want to evaluate Wang Yujia's alternative performance clothes. Here is the simple "report", telling the story.

To "report materials", you must have something "real" in your hands - hehe, I really have it.

Recently, I accidentally obtained some video materials from the early years of the Central Conservatory of Music, which were all taken in the 90s of the 20th century, which are very precious. There are several paragraphs of information about Wang Yujia's childhood, and I edited them and recorded them, uploaded and shared a few videos.

Let's talk about the content of each of these videos.

"Report" Wang Yujia|The piano genius you don't know, the brilliant childhood

The first part: Wang Yujia's piano etude. The time recorded in this video is February 16, 1994, according to this calculation, Wang Yujia was only 7 years old at that time, because she was born in 1987, but we can see from the footage that the girl's age should not be 7 years old, but probably a teenager.

The second part: Wang Yujia and another friend performed the Chopin etude, using the form of a double piano. This video is actually from the same performance as the first segment, and I cut them into two segments. What I want to say here is that whether Wang Yujia was 7 years old or not, from the perspective of fluency and musical expression of playing, he was very mature, and as a teenager, the level of performance was quite excellent, much higher than his peers.

The third video is very important, and I will focus on it.

Mr. Ashkenage, a world-famous pianist, has visited China many times, which involves some past events in the 90s of the 20th century, but it has been a bit long, and I have not been able to find out what years he visited China. I only found a 1995 report titled "Perfect Performance, Deep Heart: Remembering Ashkenazi's Visit to China" (author: Ni Hongjin). From the text of the report, it can be understood that Master Ashkenachi went to the Central Conservatory of Music to guide piano students before the October performance. I mention this to illustrate Maestro Ashkenage's love for China and his concern for Chinese piano talents. Of course, this third video I posted wasn't in this year, it happened three years later, in 1998.

This year, Master Ashkenazi visited China again and visited the Central Conservatory of Music to personally listen to and guide several outstanding students of the piano department.

It was this video that fully captured the scene. How precious!

11-year-old Wang Yujia is the youngest among the students recommended by the conservatory, so she was the first to perform.

As can be seen from the live video, when Xiao Yujia finished playing the two works of Liszt and Chopin, Master Ashkenazi took the initiative to stand up and stretched out his big hands to shake hands with the child.

The master said: "I was surprised that with such a small hand, she could play such a (difficult) piece and play it very musically." ”

The master especially thanked Xiao Yujia's instructor Ling Yuan, who said: "The teacher specially found some songs for the students to practice with compared to the same age group, which is beneficial to her rapid growth. The teacher is very good! ”

The master also said: "Wang Yujia's performance is very wonderful, especially the first piece, Liszt's "Concert Etudes", I have nothing to criticize, I played it very perfectly... I wish Wang Yujia can play better when he grows up. ”

That's what the third video I uploaded was about.

By the way, I would like to mention Mr. Zhou Guangren, who is sitting next to him as an interpreter. We should really pay tribute to this old musician who passed away last year with a sincere heart, the most reverent mood, and the most sincere love! I read some materials from the Central Conservatory of Music, and many internal performances, including Yin Chengzong's guidance to students in the small classroom, were hosted by the old lady herself. Mr. Zhou Guangren's dedication to the Chinese music industry, especially the cultivation of Chinese piano talents, is really unmatched!!

Bring the topic back again.

The fourth video I uploaded, dated June 23, 1994, we saw the little prodigy in the footage, which should really be 7 years old. This is probably a rare live performance of Wang Yujia, playing Chopin's work, still in the form of a double piano. At such a young age, I can play this work so well, so some friends sighed after watching this video: the phrase "genius accounts for 1%, and acquired effort accounts for 99%" is not necessarily correct. Yes, in Wang Yujia's case, we have to admit the importance of genius, you are a genius, coupled with hard work, you can especially hope to rush to the peak of your career; On the contrary, if you say that you are "not this piece of material", it is estimated that no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to do it, right?

Finally, the "point" comes! ——I would also like to highlight the third video.

In this videotape, Mr. Ashkenachi tutored several classmates at the Central Conservatory of Music in 1998. I'm uploading 11-year-old Wang Yujia, who made her first appearance.

The second place to appear was 14-year-old Wu Di.

The third place to appear is 18-year-old Wang Xiaohan.

The fourth place to appear is graduate student Liu Jia.

There is also a fifth place (not introduced, not recognized).

The three mentioned above have long become famous pianists in China and even the world music scene, let's take a look at their background (Baidu data).

Wu Di: Graduated from the Curtis School of Music, a master's degree in piano performance from The Juilliard School, a young pianist in Xiamen, China.

Wang Xiaohan: Ph.D., piano, composer, conductor "Sanxi" artist, Steinway artist, Steinway Honorary Professor. Tianjin Juilliard Resident Teacher, Master Tutor, Director of the Preparatory Department Piano Discipline. Distinguished Professor of China Conservatory of Music. Artistic Director of Singapore International Piano Competition, Artistic Director of Rubinstein International Youth Piano Competition, Artistic Director of Los America International Summer Music Academy, USA.

Liu Jia: Associate Professor and Graduate Tutor of the Piano Department of Xi'an Conservatory of Music.

So, what did Master Ashkenachi say about these students? In order not to distort history, I carefully watched the tape twice.

The master did not speak highly of Wu Di and Liu Jia's performance. He also pointed out some shortcomings in Wang Xiaohan's performance, especially in terms of the overall grasp of the work, Wang Xiaohan still has many shortcomings. But the master also affirmed the 18-year-old, saying: "You can hear that you like the lyrical passages, and you play them calmly, which is good." ”

After listening to the first four piano students, Ashkenazi concluded: "Of all the students I heard today, only the first Wang Yujia had a clear and complete expression of the structural image of the entire music... Others failed to do it, which made me feel a little uncomfortable. (That's how Mr. Zhou Guangren translated.) )

After reading my above "reports", do you have a clearer and more objective understanding of Wang Yujia? It seems that it is no accident that he is among the few pianists in the world. The little prodigy has been amazingly skilled since he was a child, and now he is popular, which is supported by enough heritage.

In fact, the content I want to "report" is not finished, and there will be unexpected materials in the following articles. However, the first is that I have been recovering recently and do not want to write a long speech. Second, other videos have not yet been uploaded. And, just yesterday, I received a very embarrassing message that Watermelon Video had sent me a private message, warning me about my videos transcribed by videotape, on the grounds that "audio and video are of low quality", saying that uploading similar videos in the future will be "not recommended". What does it mean not recommended? That is to say, it is passed on and passed on in vain, and few people can see it. Hey, it's really frustrating. My original intention was to let more people see some rare past streams, but the video quality of the 90s is like that, how can it be 16:9? How can there be HD effects?
