It is understood that the skimmed milk powder on the market is not completely fat-free, it is on the basis of the whole milk powder to add a degreasing production process: more centrifugal methods to remove the fat in the milk, but this method is difficult to remove all the fat, and the more fat removed, the greater the cost and difficulty. Therefore, the general milk factory will control the fat content of skimmed milk powder at about 1%, relatively speaking, the fat content of skimmed milk powder is already very low, but it is not completely fat-free.

The reason why many people choose skimmed milk powder is because they are worried that milk powder will gain weight and be unhealthy after drinking too much, but in fact, skimmed milk powder is not necessarily "excellent" than whole milk powder, the main reasons are as follows:

1. Whole milk is not high in fat. The fat content of whole milk powder is generally 3% to 3.5%, which is much lower than the evaluation standard of high-fat foods (>20%). In addition, the lipids in dairy products have many benefits for the human body, and the lecithin, brain phospholipids and sphingomyelins contained in them play a very important role in the development of infant neurons.

2. Skimmed milk powder does not only remove "fat". When the fat is removed from skimmed milk powder, fat-soluble vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K will be removed with the fat, and the aroma present in the milk fat will also be lost.

When choosing milk powder, Jiang Jianhua, chief physician of the Nutrition Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University, suggested that normal and healthy adults can drink 250 to 500 ml of whole milk per day; for people with abnormal blood lipids or obesity, it is recommended to test blood lipids once a year, as long as the blood lipids meet the standard and no atherosclerosis occurs, you can drink about 250 ml of whole milk per day with confidence; for patients with underlying cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, it is advisable to drink skim milk.
