The Three Emperors and Five Emperors of Daode, with the name of Xia Hou Shang Zhou. Qingshi has several lines of names and surnames, and countless barren hills in the north. Welcome to the Hundred Families of History, get close to historical figures, and feel the life of hundreds of families. In this issue, we introduce you to a generation of famous faces - Shantao.

Speaking of Shantao, you may not know much, but when it comes to the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, you must be familiar with it. Shan Tao is one of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest, and the other six sages are: Ruan Yuan, Ji Kang, Liu Ling, Ruan Xian, Xiang Xiu, and Wang Rong. These people, advocating lao Zhuang's learning, respecting purity and quietness, and pursuing transcendence over things, in the Wei and Jin dynasties where door valve politics and materialism were rampant, were like a clear stream, leading people's yearning and pursuit of truth, goodness and beauty, which was called "Wei Jin demeanor" in later generations.

Shantao, born in 205 AD, died in 283, character Juyuan. A native of Huai County, Hanoi County, he is now a native of Wuzhi (zhi) in Henan. Shantao's father, Shan Yao (山曜), had served as the official of Yuān jù (尉) County, but unfortunately died early. Because of the death of his father, the whole family fell into a catastrophe, and it took a long time to slowly get up. Because he was poor and powerless, his mother taught him to be patient from an early age. This kind of patience, which is a "house rule" for children, later becomes a kind of temperament.

When it comes to the origin of the "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest", the foremost hero is Shantao. Without him, I am afraid that this group of unworldly celebrities in the bamboo forest would not be able to gather together, he was their boss. One day, Mrs. Han, Shantao's daughter-in-law, asked her husband, "You run to make friends all day, who are you interacting with?" Shan Taomei smiled and said, "Speaking of them, they are really unique talents in the world today." Han Shi was even more surprised and said, "If you go to people's houses all day to eat and drink, you must also ask them back once, so that I can see who they are." ”

On this day, Ruan Ji and Ji Kang received an invitation and came. The three of them chatted and drank in the living room. Mrs. Han hid next door and eavesdropped on them. Ruan Ji and Ji Kang chanted poems for a while, and played the piano and sang high songs the next. The husband, on the other hand, spends most of his time quietly listening, only occasionally interjecting a few words. The next day, Nguyen and Ji Kang resigned. Shan Tao sent out miles, came back and smiled at his wife and asked, "What do you think of these two people?" Mrs. Han said frankly: "Their talent is much higher than yours." But with your insight and skill, it is also possible to be friends with them. Shan Tao was not angry when he heard this, but was very happy that he still had "advantages". This is Shantao's open-mindedness.

Among the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest, the friendship between Ji Kang and Shantao has been passed down as a good story throughout the ages, and has always been relished by future generations. Ji Kang and Shan Tao, once known as confidants to each other, once again openly broke up, and their friendship finally ended in an unexpected way, which can be described as twists and turns, bizarre and intriguing. And all this must start from Ji Kang's two letters of renunciation, one of which is the "Book of Renunciation with Shan Juyuan" that has been passed down through the ages!

This letter was written by Ji Kang after hearing the news that Shan Tao wanted to recommend him to take his place in his original post when he was transferred to the post of Grand General. The letter rejected Shantao's recommendation, pointed out that each person's disposition was good, and affirmed that he himself was lazy and lazy, and could not be restrained by the law of etiquette, and could not be forced. The style of the article is clear, the intention is super-vulgar, and the writing is concise. This letter is really a "meaningful" text. After Shan Tao received the letter, instead of getting angry, he was even more grateful for Ji Kang's affection. He knew that because someone in the DPRK was framing Ji Kang, Ji Kang was writing this letter to break off his relationship with himself, and he was really sacrificing himself. Sure enough, Ji Kang soon fell into the trap and was victimized by the adulterers.

After Ji Kang's death, Ruan Ji completely lost hope in life. He held the wine jug every day and indulged in it with Liu Ling. And shantao, still maintaining that thickness, enjoys the few remaining scenery in the corner of the bamboo forest. He was depressed but had to take on more responsibility.

After Ji Kang's death, his children and widows were entrusted to Shantao's care. Shantao treated them like his own family. Not only to deal with life and living, but also to plan for their future. Later, Ji Kang's son Ji Shao became a doctor at the age of eighteen, thanks to Shantao's recommendation.

At first, like other bamboo forest celebrities, Shantao gathered together to drink, talk, indulge in singing and dancing, and chanting poems, but in the end Shantao chose to be born as an official, and when he became one of the three dukes of the Jin Dynasty, this behavior was dissatisfied by other celebrities. Some people say that Shantao chose to serve Sima Shi, which is equivalent to betraying the Bamboo Forest Sage. But in fact, Shantao also has his own unavoidable grievances. Moreover, the development of the times has changed, and it is good to be invisible in the mountains and forests and be alone, but it also needs the wise men and women to govern the country well and let the people live a good life.

In 265, Sima Zhao died, and the eldest son, Sima Yan, took over the scepter from his father. Sima Yan relied on Shantao, on the one hand, because Shantao was related to himself and was considered a "founding hero"; on the other hand, Shantao's moral character was too noble. Although Shantao is in the official field, he does not seek fame and fortune, but only lives for the ideal in his heart. Seeking advantage and avoiding harm, but not colluding with villains, can maintain a noble disposition for life.

It is said that Yuan Yi of Chen County had bribed the chancellor many times. Everyone else pocketed the money. Only Shan Tao sent a hundred pounds of silk, received it and sent it back, and finally all sealed it in the attic. Later, Yuan Yi was reported, and the bribe-takers were also exposed. Those people were irrefutable and could only bow their heads. At this time, Shantao opened the attic and moved out the "gift" that was already covered with dust, and everyone praised it when they saw that the seal on it was not damaged.

The years are long, the white clouds are dogs. Unconsciously, Shantao was already more than sixty years old, and he accompanied the emperor every day. I thought that such a quiet and good day would go on like this, who knows that in a few days, because of the matter of his friend Pei Xiu, Shantao was relegated to the history of Jizhou, but Shantao never complained, did his duty, and thought about the people.

Because of his excellent political achievements, Shantao was once again recalled to the dynasty. However, Shan Tao was already a little tired of being an official at this time. And his mother, who was also seriously ill, Shantao was a filial son, and he wanted to go home and serve his old mother. Sima Yan was reluctant to him, but he could not do anything, so he first gave him an official, and then specially allowed him to go home and stay until Shantao's mother died. As soon as the funeral was over, Sima Yan again used the urgency of state affairs as an excuse to recruit Shantao as an official Shangshu. This time he was ordained. In the third year of Taikang (282), Shan Tao was promoted to Situ, and died of illness the following year at the age of seventy-nine.

Time goes back a thousand years, if I travel one day, I meet the mountain waves. I would ask him a question: "Do you really want to, or do you not want to be an official?" The benevolent ShanTao might smile and say lightly, "I just hope that this imperial court will be stable for a longer time, so that the living beings will not be affected by the war anymore." Ji Kang, they have always understood me. ”
