In the third year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (399 AD), Sima Yuan, the son of Sima Daozi the Prince of Huiji, sent slave-free slaves from the eastern counties of Zhejiang to the Beijing Division to serve as a soldier, with the title of "Le genus". The counties of eastern Zhejiang were furious. With this incident as the fuse, at the end of the Eastern Jin Empire, the twelve-year-long rebellion of Sun En and Lu Xun began.

Yellow Turban Uprising
Let's turn back the timeline to emperor Guang of Han Ling and the seventh year (184 AD). In this year, the poor peasants (mostly believers) wearing yellow scarves on their heads, under the orders or instigation of Zhang Jiao, shouted the slogan "The sky is dead, the yellow sky is standing, the age is in the armor, the world is auspicious", which is called the "Yellow Turban Uprising" in history. Throughout the history of feudal dynasties, peasant uprisings are not uncommon. However, Zhang Jiao, the mastermind behind the "Yellow Turban Uprising", was different, and his instrument of inciting the toiling masses to rebel with him was particularly special - religion.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhang Jiao founded Taiping Taoism based on the Qishu "Taiping Essentials". Later, in the name of saving the people, he preached everywhere to win people's hearts, and established a high prestige among the poor masses who were already overwhelmed and had an unsustainable life at that time, thus laying a solid mass foundation for the later "Yellow Turban Uprising".
The history of Sun En's and Lu Xun's origins is very similar to Zhang Jiao's, but its propaganda tool is the Wudoumi Taoism founded by Zhang Xiu. According to the "Classic Sketch" quoted by Pei Songzhi in the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, the Wudou Rice Dao is similar to the Taiping Taoist Teachings, because of the addition of the ashram, so that the sick have thought about it, and then make people ghost officials, so that the sick family out of the five buckets of rice is a common practice, for this reason it is called the Five Buckets of Rice Sect.
Who are Sun En and Lu Xun?

Sun En, a native of Langya, is a descendant of Sun Xiu, whose family has been practicing Wudoumi Taoism for generations.

Sun En's ancestor, Sun Xiu, initially served as a small official in Langya, but because of his well-written articles, he was favored and promoted by Sima Lun, who was then the king of Langya, and was introduced as a confidant. Later, Sima Lun was given the title of King of Zhao, and Sun Xiu also moved the Zhao household registration and was appointed as a waiter. Sun Xiu was worthy of being a loyal believer in the WudouMi Sect, and when he was an official under Sima Lun, he still did not forget to subtly preach to the leaders.
"Lun, Xiu, and the witches and ghosts, listening to the evil sayings, Xiu made Yamen Zhao deceive emperor Xuan as a divine language, ordered Lun to enter the Western Palace early, and said that Emperor Xuan was Sasuke the King of Zhao in Northern Mang. Therefore, the temple of Emperor Xuan was set up on Mangshan, saying that the conspiracy could be achieved. "
Zhao Wanglun believed Sun Xiu's nonsense, believing that his father (Sima Yi) supported himself to replace Sima Zheng, the Emperor of Jinhui, under the influence of Jiuyou, so Sima Lun exchanged opinions with Sun Xiu's master and servant, unified his cognition, and unswervingly created his own rebellion.

It has to be admitted that their rebellion was still "fruitful". Although Sima Lun did not become emperor for a few days, he survived the addiction of being an emperor and caused a trend of the times (the rebellion of the Eight Kings, which intensified), and both the master and servant died.
After the failure of Zhao Wanglun and Sun Xiu, the Sun family arrived at Sun En's generation and had moved to the south. Sun En's uncle Sun Tai (孙泰), served as a general in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and held official positions such as Taishou (太守). The most powerful thing is to use Wudoumi Taoism as a medium, get the faith of Sanwu Shishu, and incarnate as the human spokesperson of Wudoumi Taoism.
In the Biography of Sun En, it is said that Sun Tai "has a cunning and a small talent, seduces the people, and the fool respects him as a god, and all of them exhaust their possessions and enter their children to pray for blessings and celebrations." It can be seen that Sun Tai is extremely popular. However, as a big fool, fooling some "fools" is obviously not Sun Tai's life ideal and pursuit.

According to historical records, the upper class and even emperors at that time, such as Emperor Xiaowu of Jin, as well as the ruling Sima Daozi and Sima Yuanxian fathers and sons, all had great trust in Sun Tai or the Wudou Rice Sect endorsed by Sun Tai. The reason for this is that the Wudou Rice Sect has the "art of taking food", which can be obtained for eternal life. Regarding the worship of the Taoist family by the imperial family at that time, we seem to have a glimpse of some of Emperor Jianwen's behavior. Emperor Jianwen wrote DaoWan and had two sons. One son is Emperor Xiaowu's character Daosheng, the other son's character Daozi, the imperial family name uses extremely elaborate words, And Emperor Jianwen took the word so, which seems to prove the influence of the Wudou Rice Sect in the imperial family at that time.

In contrast, the genealogy of Sun En's rebel partner Lu Xun is much more prominent.

Lu Xun's grandfather was Lu Chen, a native of Fanyang Zhuo County, whose ancestor Lu Yu was a prominent member of fanyang during the reign of Cao Wei, and the Lu clan was a famous clan of Fanyang. In Lu Chen's generation, during the Yongjia Rebellion, the four south ran south. However, Lu Chen firmly chose to stay in the north, and then was forced to serve as an official in the imperial court of the Shi clan of the Qi clan, so that he "fell to the wrong place". By the time of Lu Xun's generation, this Lu clan had already crossed south.

What is "desolation"? Southerners ridicule northerners for being rude and desolate in the north, calling it "wilderness." The Lu Xun family is the Fanyang Lu clan, the Central Plains Gao clan. Because of the late southern crossing, it was still insulted as a "wasteland". This psychological gap may have sown the seeds of hatred for Lu Xun, who had suffered from the white eyes of the southern warriors since childhood.

After the Battle of Shuishui in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Xie An surrendered power and retired, and died soon after. Sima Daozi and his son Sima Yuanxian took over power, and the politics were extremely corrupt, and the luxury of the shi clan went straight after the nobles of the Western Jin Dynasty. The lower Wu people suffered greatly because of their frequent military service and heavy taxes. In addition, Huan Xuan and the ruling Sima Daozi father and son were particularly at odds, and the internal forces of the Eastern Jin Dynasty court were tilted against each other, and the whole country was smoky and miasma, and chaos was exposed.
Sun En's uncle, Sun Tai, saw that the time was ripe and decided to carry the banner of revolution and overthrow the tyrannical Jin.

Sun Tai thought that Jin Zuo was about to end, so he summoned his disciple Sun Yi to try his hand, but he did not want to be denounced by Xie Xuan, and was killed by Sima Daozi before he could succeed. So Sun En took over his uncle's banner, inherited the laurel title of "Spokesperson of the Five Buckets of Rice Sect", and gathered outlaws on the island to wait for the opportunity to take revenge on the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
"And Yuan Xian indulged in violence against Wu Hui, the people were uneasy, and because of his commotion, he attacked Yu from the sea, killed the county order, and because of the attack on Hui Hui, harmed The Inner Shi Wang Ningzhi, there were tens of thousands of people. Therefore, the eight counties of Xie Jun, Wu County, Yixing Xu Yunzhi, Linhai Zhou, Yongjia Zhang Yong, Dongyang, Xin'an and other eight counties rose up for a while, killing the chief officials in response, and in the middle of the ten days, hundreds of thousands of people. "
Sun En, Lu Xun revolted
Finally, Sun En waited for the opportunity, Sima Daozi's father and son wantonly levied and violently abused Jiang Zuo, and after the promulgation of the "Le Genus" policy, the common people were not worthy of violent promotion for a long time. Therefore, Sun En waited for the opportunity to rise up. At this time, the Wudoumi Sect believers lurking above the Eastern Jin Dynasty rebelled and responded, such as Huiji Xie Gong, one of the four surnames of Huiji, and Lu Hu of Wu County, from the Lu clan of one of the four surnames of Wu County. They were all prominent warriors in Jiangdong, but they were on the side of the WudouMi Sect. It is not difficult to see that at this time, the Wudoumi Sect has penetrated the door valves of the Shi Clan and developed into a huge force hidden in the government and the opposition.
So Enzhi huijian called himself general Zhengdong and called his party "Immortal Man". All the thieves burned the barns, burned the houses, filled the wells with wood, plundered the goods, and gathered together in the huiji. His women were too tired to go, and the baby was thrown into the water, and told him: "He Ru first ascended to the Immortal Hall, and I will find ru after I find it." ""
The doctrine of the Wudoumi Sect is to pursue immortality, so Sun En called the henchmen who followed him as "immortals". Sun En led his "Immortals" all the way to burn and plunder, and gathered at Huiji. In the military, some women could not follow the baby in their arms, so Sun En asked them to make a cradle out of wood, place the baby in it, throw it into the water, and demonize the people: "Congratulations to these babies for going to heaven first, and when we die, we will also fly up to the immortal." From this, it can be seen that Sun En's name of the believer in the WudouMi Sect for the Heavenly Path is actually just a use of religion to realize his own personal selfish desires.
After Sun En and Lu Xun rebelled, most of the members of their rebel army were residents who lived on the river sea for many years. Later, Sun En invaded Linhai and was defeated by Linhai Taishou Xinjing, with no way to escape, and drowned himself in the sea. The followers who followed Sun En used their brains to read the Taiping Imperial Records, and one of the "Daobu Corpse Solutions" quoted in the "Dengzhen Hidden Recipe" recorded that the corpse solutions had the solutions of swords, soldiers, water, and fire. According to Sun En's method of death, it should be attributed to hydrolysis. Therefore, Sun En's water throwing was deified as "Dengxian Hall", and self-sinking was misinterpreted as "becoming a daffodil".

After Sun En's death, Lu Xun took over the banner of rebellion and continued to win people's hearts and minds in the name of becoming a "Narcissus", causing chaos in Guangzhou. Later, taking advantage of the Northern Expedition of Liu Yu, a new magnate in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the soldiers invaded Jiankang, and it was also considered to be a temporary power, although they were unable to defeat Liu Yu, the soldiers were defeated and died, and they did not live up to the name of Jukou.
Once religion is tainted with politics, it is bound to become a tool for fighting in the hands of mortals. The people of that era could not bear the pain of reality, hoped for the next life, and mistakenly believed in a large number of human "gods and Buddhas" . I didn't think about it, but then I fell into a bottomless abyss.
