Go see the 37-year-old "color" Sun Daolin, "Eternal Waves" color 4K restoration version released

On October 6, China's first black-and-white-to-color 4K restoration feature film "The Eternal Radio Wave" officially landed in theaters. The film was produced by Bayi Film Studio in 1958, which is also the first black-and-white classic feature film to enter the theater after 4K color restoration, and the majority of audiences can experience the unique charm of "red classic + digital technology" on the big screen.

"The Eternal Wave" is not unfamiliar to many viewers, especially some elderly viewers. This classic spy film, written by Lin Jin, directed by Wang Ping, starring Sun Daolin and Yuan Xia, is based on the deeds of martyr Li Bai and tells the story of Li Xia, a member of the Communist Party of China, lurking in enemy-occupied areas and sacrificing his life for the cause of the revolution. At this year's Beijing Film Festival, this restored version of the film caused quite a stir.

On October 5th, "The Eternal Wave" was held in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Shandong, Hebei and other provinces and cities with "100-year 100-year screening activities", which caused strong repercussions from the audience.

Chongqing's on-demand screening activities were held in Hall 5 of the Metropolis Store of MEET U Giant Screen Cinema in Yuzhong District and Hall 3 of the Banan District Red Star Film World Banan Store, and in addition to the media invited by the filmmakers, many viewers specially purchased on-demand tickets to come and have a sneak peek.

This year is the centenary of the birth of film master Sun Daolin, after 63 years, Sun Daolin, who is frozen on the big screen, is still 37 years old, and when he first appeared in front of the audience with a clear color image and said "Comrades, farewell forever", the audience still has wet eyes.

Audience member Ms. Yang said, "The old film is clearly repaired and shocking, and after adding color, the blood in the eyes of the lead actor is clearly recognizable, and it is also very meaningful to see this film on National Day." ”

At the screening scene, the 98-year-old Xu Chengying mother-in-law who came to watch the film accompanied by her family said, "I have seen the black and white version many times, this is the first time I have seen the color version, the picture is very clear, I feel very satisfied." ”

It is reported that the restoration work of "The Eternal Radio Wave" released this time is a project restoration team formed by the Central Video 5G New Media Platform of the Central Radio and Television Corporation and the China Film Archive, which combines the human-computer interactive AI coloring technology with independent intellectual property rights in China with traditional restoration techniques, and repairs more than 160,000 frames of black and white images of the original film frame by frame for more than 7 months, so that this red classic is rejuvenated and becomes a vivid teaching material for party history study education and patriotism education.
