Comrade Xie Tieli, a famous director, died at peking union medical hospital at 10:40 on June 19, 2015 at the age of 90 due to ineffective medical treatment.

Director Xie Tieli dropped out of school at a young age and did not study in the Eight Classics, but with his talent and hard work, he began to work as a film teacher in the 1950s. In 1959, Xie Tieli began to direct films independently, and after a lot of masterpieces, he was widely regarded by film historians as the representative of the "third generation" of directors. It can be said that Xie Tieli was one of the first film creators in New China. Xie Tieli has long been engaged in film creation in Beijing, and is on a par with Xie Jin, who is bass in Shanghai, and is known as the "Southern and Northern Two Xie".
Personally, I think that Xie Tieli's artistic career is roughly divided into three major stages: the first stage is represented by "Early Spring and February", which reflects the complex state of mind of Chinese intellectuals and has great artistic achievements, but the film is very different from the "workers, peasants and soldiers" writing at that time, and soon after filming, it was criticized as never before, and its crime was to promote the bourgeois theory of human nature and class reconciliation.
The second stage is mainly to shoot model plays, which are also due to special historical periods; the third stage is to shoot classical masterpieces such as "Dream of the Red Chamber" and "Liaozhai". Director Xie Tieli adapted "Dream of the Red Chamber" into 6 8-episode movies on the big screen, which is a feat in the history of Chinese cinema, in which beautiful women gather, and even Jia Baoyu is an actress.
Director Xie Tieli filmed "Liaozhai" after filming "Dream of the Red Chamber", and when selecting actors, he saw Zhou Xun's wall calendar and tried to let Zhou Xun, who was still in school, play the little fox fairy in "Tomb Waste", which opened the latter's acting path.
At the 2008 Film and Television Awards Ceremony, Zhou Xun won the "Best Film Actress" award, and director Xie Tieli happened to be the awardees. At that time, Zhou Xun, who was originally on the stage, immediately rushed down and went to the audience to personally help Director Xie onto the stage. Xie Tieli said to Zhou Xun: "Zhou Xun's first film that year was to play a little fox, but unfortunately he could not let Zhou Xun win the award, it is really sorry, the little wei in "Painted Skin" is also a small fox, this award should be a love for Zhou Xun. After listening to the teacher's words, Zhou Xun couldn't help but cry, and she said in her thank you: "Without Xie Dao, there would be no me today." ”
