Pei Yanling -- formerly known as Pei Xin, female, born in August 1947, from Suning County, Hebei Province. First-class actor. Since childhood, he practiced with his father and taught Li Chongshuai. In 1960, he entered the Hebei Zizi Theater and studied under Li Shaochun, Hou Yongkui and Guo Jingchun. Starring in "Baolian Lantern", "Nezha" and "Zhong Kui" have been made into film art films. He is currently a member of the Ninth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice chairman of the Chinese Dramatists Association, chairman of the Hebei Dramatists Association, and head of the Pei Yanling Troupe of the Hebei Provincial Peking Opera House.

The starring "Baolian Lantern" and "Nezha" have been made into opera films.
His father Pei Yuan was a famous martial artist in Peking Opera, and his stepmother Yuan Xizhen was a famous Actor of Hebei Zidan. Influenced by her family, Pei Yanling, who came from a family of pear gardens, has been obsessed with Chinese opera since she was a child. He studied art with his father, then studied with Li Chongshuai, Cui Shengbin, Guo Jingchun, asked Hou Yongkui and Li Shaochun, first learned Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera, and then sang Hebei Zizi. At the age of 12, she joined the Hebei Yizi Youth LeapIng Forward Troupe in Hebei Province, and was twice received by Mao Zedong and other national leaders for her outstanding acting skills.
Pei Yanling was a martial artist from elementary school and loved "women playing men", but during the Cultural Revolution, there was a precept that "men do not play women, women do not play men". During that period, her artistic talent was limited, and she could only play some female roles in plays such as "Little Sisters of the Heroes of the Prairie", "Red Detachment of Women", and "Cuckoo Mountain". For more than ten years, Pei Yanling practiced while reading, and Taoguang cultivated obscurity. Enduring pain and enjoying loneliness became an asset to her artistic career. At the beginning of 1983, the reform of the troupe system in Hebei Province was launched, and the public expected it, Pei Yanling contracted a troupe of Hebei Zizi Theater. She starred in "Baolian Lantern", "Nezha Noisy Sea", "Haunting Heavenly Palace", "North and South Harmony" and other plays, and her superb acting skills have fascinated audiences everywhere. In 1985, Pei Yanling self-financed the rehearsal of "Zhong Kui". In October of that year, he entered Beijing for a month of performance, and set off a "Hebei Zizi fever" in Beijing.
Pei Yanling's voice is high-pitched and loud, her walking voice is like clouds and flowing water, her martial arts are outstanding, her performance is divine, her drama path is broad, and she is known for her literary and martial arts, and her "singing, doing, reading, and playing" skills are all good, and the chaotic skills of Beijing and Zikun are popular at home and abroad. Because she can shape each artistic image with brilliance and great personality charm, it is known as "living Bell Kui", "living Lin Chong" and "living Wusong". She was named "Excellent Performing Artist" by the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the Hebei Provincial Government. He was once awarded the National May Day Labor Medal.

In the autumn of 1952, Pei Yuan and Yuan Xizhen performed with the troupe in Hongshan Village, Yanshan County. The drama of that day was "Jinshui Bridge", and the actor who played Qin Ying at the beginning of the performance suddenly fell ill and could not play, and it was too late to change the scene. When everyone was anxiously trying to figure out a way, Xiao Peixin slipped into the adult circle, looked up and said, "I can play Qin Ying!"

Mao's profound knowledge and unique appreciation helped Pei Yanling to point out the right way to rise from a general repertoire to a higher artistic position. The leaders of the theater immediately implemented it and sent Pei Yanling into Beijing to learn "Night Run" from Hou Yongkui. Hou Yongkui heard that chairman Mao recommended it, naturally dedicated herself to teaching drama, Pei Yanling was smart and studious, and originally had the foundation of Jingkun, famous teachers and high apprentices, learned it in ten days, but then this play was rarely performed, until November 1979, the Fourth National Literary Congress was held, the famous Peking Opera performance artist Guan Sushuang and Pei Yanling provoked each other to perform on the same stage: Guan Sushuang performed "Thief Immortal Grass", Pei Yanling acted in "Night Running", the result caused a sensation, Pei Yanling with superb acting skills and high-grade repertoire, It has been further recognized and appreciated by the literary and art circles throughout the country.
It is not easy to create a fine product on the stage, at least two conditions: first, a deep tradition of excellence, and second, continuous innovation and creation. Pei Yanling's "Night Running" can get such a high evaluation and honor, because she studied under Chengjing and Kun, mainly Kun, and at the same time inherited the essence of the performing arts of Li Pai, Hou Pai and Gai Pai, coupled with her own talent, skill and later play creation, which created today's glory, and it was Mao Zedong, the founding leader of the republic, who recommended Pei Yanling to complete the last jump of the Dragon Gate.

Pei Yanling is a celebrity, people see: the brilliance on the stage, the elegance of social occasions, and the other is somewhat mysterious, because she is not sociable offstage. What does Pei Yanling look like in her daily life? One word: busy! How busy are you? Too busy to take care of the proper life and daily etiquette, she is often misunderstood, and she herself does not know.
In September 1990, Pei Yanling led the troupe to participate in the Asian Games at the end of the art performance just in time for the opening ceremony of the Asian Games, and the organizers invited her to the main venue to watch the grand event, which was an opportunity that many people in the country at that time longed for but could not get! But Pei Yanling resigned, because the troupe had arranged to perform in Langfang and other places. When she left Beijing, the street was under martial law, Pei Yanling walked to the subway station with her suitcase, and then turned to the railway station, at this time, the drums and music of the grand opening ceremony had sounded, and she sighed: I want to stay and see this world-renowned event... But her vocation is to act, and the farmers in Langfang are waiting to see her perform!
Pei Yanling has many social positions... In this regard, Pei Yanling said: Some social activities should be participated, but I am an actor, and my task is to rehearse more plays for the masses, arrange good plays, and act more, and whenever I dare not ignore this, and repay the people, the party and the government for their attention and expectations for me. In July 1994, she told everyone at the first famous actor reading class in Hebei Province: An actor should spend all his energy on the stage, rehearsal field and learning culture, if he wastes time on pulling relationships and leading the door, then she (he) will not have a big appearance... That's what she said and that's what she did. Doing so can sometimes cause misunderstandings, or it may be done a little too much. For example, once, a newly appointed new director met Pei Yanling in the corridor of the troupe and wanted to talk to her, Pei actually said: If there is anything to talk about here, I still have something to do in the rehearsal hall! It was a bit embarrassing for the leader.
Practicing, rehearsing, and performing are the whole of Pei Yanling's life. In the second half of the month, it is customary to be the group's vacation period, everyone is busy for a year, wading through the mountains and rivers to perform for the audience, at this time it is time to rest for a few days: reunite with the family, run new year goods, and at the same time recuperate the body, ready for the busiest performance season after the Spring Festival. But at the station of Pei Yanling's troupe, they are rehearsing the newly compiled "Wusong Blood Splashed Mandarin Duck Building". On the rehearsal field, one by one, the heat wave rolled, because Pei Yanling had put on makeup and was ready to play. The deputy head of the troupe said: "This is the third rehearsal to ensure quality. "Wu Song" is a new play that we have performed in Hong Kong for the fourth time, Pei Yanling said, a troupe has performed in Hong Kong for four consecutive times, this is not easy, we must not smash the brand, we must take out our best level! Everyone also cherished the reputation of the troupe and agreed to sacrifice a few days of vacation to rehearse the play several times. ”

Pei Yanling in daily life is completely different from the style on the stage, she is of medium stature, a short hair, wearing a white down jacket, gray jeans, foot travel shoes, a delicate face exudes a quiet, elegant tone, speaking euphemistically, calmly, and can no longer see the fierce heroism on the stage.
Just after the Spring Festival, a plate of fried fish and two plates of vegetarian dishes. Three bowls of rice, mother and daughter three people eat with relish, I am afraid that no one thought: the Spring Festival meal of a well-known artist at home and abroad is so simple! Because even if it is an ordinary family, there must be four dishes and one soup during the Spring Festival, Pei Yanling said with a smile: "For me, life has been greatly improved." It was the parents who came and took care of me. In the past, after work, I often didn't have time to cook, so I went to the street to buy bread or eat it for convenience, and I was reluctant to spend too much time on eating. I've made some friends in Hong Kong over the years. They are very rich, but they are also very busy, they can spend tens of thousands of Hong Kong dollars a year, come to the mainland several times to watch me act, but at home to eat is often bread sausage, fried rice is already a very good meal, this I learned from them - time is like gold
One year, the troupe went to Cangzhou Yanshan County to perform, the car broke down on the way, had to change the car, the cold wind was biting, they waited for four or five hours in the vast countryside, and when they arrived at Yanshan, it was already 8:30 p.m., everyone still had no teeth in the water, according to the convention, they could return to the play (this scene was not performed), but the enthusiastic audience had been waiting since 6 p.m. Pei Yanling knew about this situation and said to the comrades of the troupe: "So many audiences came from all over the world to see our play, and waited for several hours, we can't let them down." After saying that, she couldn't care about the fatigue and hunger of the overnight rush, and took off her winter clothes with everyone and immediately put on makeup. At ten o'clock in the evening, the performance began, and the audience was like a frying pan. The whole audience boiled, cheers and applause joined together, and Pei Yanling was deeply moved. She said: This is what I, our troupe, should do, but the audience's return is such a strong affection! During the whole performance, the cold wind outside the theater was fierce, the heat inside the theater was steaming, and when the play was dispersed, it was one o'clock in the morning the next day, and more than 2,000 spectators still couldn't bear to leave, and Pei Yanling was moved to tears.
In the first month of this year, they left their warm homes in Shijiazhuang and performed in a rural area in Hengshui. It was snowing heavily, and the backstage where the actors lived dripped into ice. The drama of that day was "Zhong Kui", in order to turn over from a high place, Pei Yanling could only wear a pair of colored pants, not even autumn pants, the taste could be imagined, but Pei Yanling had a principle: whether it was in Zhongnanhai, in the golden and brilliant theater hall in Europe, or in the border and poor areas of the north of China, the performance object should be "treated equally, and the child is not deceived". She said: It is not easy for farmers to watch a play once, and such an audience is even more valuable. The more respectable and the most lovely, so the more simple and difficult the place. The more you remind yourself: to ensure the quality of the performance, you must not have the slightest idea of coping.
True feelings always pay off, wonderful in people's hearts. The fathers and elders of the peasants who live in the remote areas of the poor countryside and the miners who work in the deep mountains and wild mountains can always see the national performance standards here in Pei Yanling, and she has won the hearts of thousands of ordinary audiences. After the performance that day, a peasant came backstage and said to the troupe: "My mother is eighty-three years old, I must watch Pei Yanling's play, today I used a cart to pull the old woman from the village thirty miles away, watched your play, she still has to see Pei Yanling herself, I don't know if it is in the middle?" When Pei Yanling heard about this, she couldn't care less about wiping the oil paint on her face, and immediately ran to the old lady, who took Pei Yanling's hand and touched it while saying: "Girl, you acted really well, really good!"
