1. Are there any songs played on prs guitars in the records of artists you have collaborated with or are you working with, and are there any works that you are particularly satisfied with?
Prs Guitar recorded the entire album with Xu Wei's "That Year". Many people may not know, because Xu Wei was about to record his second solo album "That Year". I took the guitar to the shed, and I played there. Xu Wei said, "How can this guitar sound so different?" He's very happy that I can grab a new guitar to record his new album because he's also always looking for updated sounds. At that time, the recording of the piano achieved a very good effect, and we all liked it very much.
2. If you had the opportunity to re-record your original work, which ones would you most like to have?
This is a more contradictory question, and I will talk about it from two angles. The first angle is that I can turn my head and play any piece of music that I have recorded, and I think there must be more life than at that time, and there will be some more emotional stories hidden in the sound of the piano. From the second point of view, in fact, the music is a comprehensive record of your current state of mind, and the story that happened at that time, which is also very precious, so there is no need to go back and repeat it. It's like Bob Dylan in the studio, recording each song only once, and he says "Why should I record a second time, that's who I am". My state of mind is like this now, I will not look back, just go forward.
3. Are there any foreign artists who have been looking forward to working with you?
Taylor Swift, Madonna, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse and Coldplay.
4. In addition to Mr. Xu Wei, which artists have you worked with on stage and in the studio for a long time?
It can be said that I have worked with all the musicians and singers in China in the studio. The artists who cooperate on the spot are also from the first line to the second line to the third line. In terms of age, singers born from the 60s to the 90s have collaborated. In the past two years, I have played more for Xu Wei's "Blue Group" team, and I am responsible for the music director and lead guitar of the entire team, so I have less energy to play other music. The rest of the time, I was doing the music for the overload band with Gao Qi.
5. Which song with wonderful guitar performance would you most like to recommend on Mr. Xu Wei's album? After the release of Xu Wei's new album, have you had any new works recently?
On the last album I recommended "Empty Valley Youlan", I saw no less than a hundred people on the Internet flipping that song solo, they will also ask me to do some evaluation, I will give them timely encouragement. On the new album, I recommend "City in the Sunset". In it, Xu Wei wrote about the complex emotions that people are very lost and lonely in their hearts in middle age, but they are very hopeful about the future. Xu Wei's expression is particularly indifferent. This is an atmosphere and tolerance that can only be manifested at this age, which is particularly emotional. That song was the last lyric he wrote on his entire album. When he first told me the lyrics, I was working on the string part of the song in the shed. He sang it to me, and I was about to cry, very, very emotional.
6. You just talked about the cooperation with Gao Qi in the overload band, can you reveal the new record?
In fact, the new song of the overload band was recorded 10 years ago, and only the part sung by Gao Qi was left. He himself is trying to achieve a higher and better level in vocal music, so he is still practicing singing. When he is ready, everything will be completed and will be released.
7. Now that the word "human design" is popular, what is the most unique temperament and attribute of your own music?
Two words: freedom.
8. If you had the opportunity to form an all-star super band, who would you like to be the lead singer, bass, keyboard and drums?
Let's talk about the domestic first, and then look at the whole world. In the domestic lineup, lead singer Yu Qian, keyboardist Xu Wei, drummer Gao Qi, bass player Zheng Jun. In foreign languages, the lead singer is Billy Corgan (lead singer of the Band Broken Melon), bass is the fla of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the drummer is jimmy Chamberlin, the first drummer of the Band Broken Melon, and the keyboardist is Joseph Hahn of Linkin Park. Xu Wei is okay as a keyboard player, and he sometimes writes songs by playing on the piano. At every one of our concert tours, he had a piano in his lounge, and when he got to the venue, he would play and sing by himself. This scene has never been seen before, only I can see it.
9. Can you comment on the "Summer of the Band" show?
Don't tell you that I don't have time to watch this kind of entertainment music program. Because I was originally making music, I could no longer rely on music to entertain, but my entertainment life was very far away from music. I need to relax in other areas. Otherwise, watching music, I always feel like I'm at work. Of course, I also want to listen to music to learn, but watching the show and learning are two different things.
