Members of Pakistan's prime minister Imran Khan's inner circle, including cabinet ministers and their families, secretly own companies and hold multimillion-dollar trusts, Pandora documents show.

More than 700 Pakistanis were added to the investigation list, including Finance Minister Shokat Tallinn, the Bahtiyar family of Minister of Industry and Production, Senator Faisal Voda, pml-q leader Chowdhury Munis Ellahi and others.

The documents do not show that Prime Minister Imran Khan himself owns offshore companies, but has published overseas transactions involving arif naqvi, the largest donor to his JeM party, as well as fraud allegations in the United States.

The investigation revealed that Finance Minister Tallinn and his family own four offshore companies set up for a Saudi-owned bank that the Tallinn family planned to invest in. The brother of Industry and Production Minister Bahtiar transferred a $1 million apartment in London's Chelsea area to his mother in 2018 through an offshore company. Former water minister Faisal Vawda set up an offshore company to invest in UK property.

The investigation also revealed several offshore assets involving Pakistan's military leader and his family. Among them, a luxury apartment in London was transferred by the son of a famous Indian film director to the wife of a Pakistani general.

Pakistan's information minister, Fawad Chowdhury, said details disclosed in the Pandora document exposed the overseas assets of corrupt elements and would further strengthen Prime Minister Imran Khan's position.

Imran Khan has previously stressed on Twitter that poor countries should be prevented from hiding their wealth in rich countries.

Dr Shahbaz Gill, the Prime Minister's Special Assistant for Political Communications, also said that if any member of the government is found to have hidden overseas assets, they themselves must be held accountable for the act.
