From the Tianjin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, it was learned that more than 520 ornamental pigeons of different shapes imported from Portugal were recently released into the market after passing the quarantine of the Tianjin Airport Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, of which the "Chinese owl" is a breed native to China, which is currently extinct in China, and this is the first introduction in China.
The ornamental pigeon, also known as the pigeon and the pigeon, is one of the three major pigeon breeds, and it has won people's favor with its beautiful plumage, strange posture and interesting behavior. Ornamental pigeons are China's precious cultural heritage and wealth, with a long history, now in the Shang Dynasty, flourishing in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Due to historical changes, some ornamental pigeon breeds originating in China are on the verge of extinction in China, but they are breeding and developing abroad and are thriving. For some time, domestic pigeon lovers have had to go abroad to participate in industry activities such as pigeon watching events.
In order to promote the return of excellent germplasm resources of Chinese ornamental pigeons, the Tianjin Airport Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has carried out meticulous quarantine policies, working procedures and epidemic information guidance for importing enterprises that have never been exposed to imported live animals. And has three times on-site guidance to enterprises to complete the disinfection of isolation facilities, the construction of transport vehicle access channel disinfection pool, the completion of feed and bedding into the field inspection and acceptance; quarantine personnel special trip to the capital airport, in the shortest possible time to complete the handover procedures.
According to the staff of Tianjin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, after the ornamental pigeons entered the country and were safely transferred to the isolation field, they quickly carried out a series of on-site quarantine work such as disinfection, verification, verification of pigeon foot ring numbers, clinical quarantine, and unloading into isolated bird cages, and within one week of entry, 86 ornamental pigeons were selected in strict accordance with the regulations to take blood samples and carried out laboratory disease testing.
At present, the batch of ornamental pigeons has completed a 30-day quarantine in accordance with relevant regulations and is qualified for release. In the future, Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine will continue to support the introduction of more excellent ornamental pigeon breeds and support enterprises to build an international competition base for Chinese ornamental pigeons.
