Sheep crooked neck, it is possible to get sheep nose fly maggot disease! Sheep-nosed fly maggot disease is a parasitic disease in which sheep-nosed fly larvae parasitize the nasal cavity or frontal process of sheep and cause chronic rhinitis.
Symptoms: the sheep are manifested as mental malaise, reddish visible mucosa, secretions from the nostrils, shaking their heads, sneezing, motor disorders, head bending to one side or spasms, paralysis, hearing, vision loss, difficulty in lifting the hind limbs, sometimes standing unsteadily, falling and dying.
Reason: Adult sheep-nosed fly mostly appear in spring, summer and autumn, especially in summer. Adults begin to contact sheep in June and July, and females fly over pastures, pens, etc., burrowing into sheep nostrils to produce larvae. After the larval stage of stage 3 matures, the larvae gradually crawl from the deep part to the nasal cavity, and when the affected sheep sneezes, the larvae are squirted out, fall to the ground, burrow into the soil or inside the sheep dung pile and become pupae, and after 1 to 2 months they become flies. After the male and female mate, the female infests the sheep and produces larvae.
treat:
(1) Remove maggots and rotten tissue with forceps or a sharp spoon, rinse with 3% to 5% lesula solution, and finally use a degreasing cotton dipped in turpentine, carbon tetrachloride or iodine solution to caguar the wound. Foreskin lumen or vaginal vestibular vestibule can also be used for sull solution therapy, but the concentration should be lower. Maggots removed from the wound should be buried deep or burned to avoid becoming adults. Peppermint oil can also be applied to the wound, which can make the maggots fall quickly from the wound and be completely maggot-free after 1 hour.
(2) Avermectin or ivermectin is injected subcutaneously at 0.2 mg per kilogram of body weight, which can kill the larvae in the nasal cavity or in the sinuses.
(3) Preparation of aqueous solution of enemy worm alcohol intramuscular injection to take refined enemy worm 60 grams, 95% medical alcohol 31 ml, distilled water 31 ml, miscible. Sheep weighing less than 20 kg should be used for 0.5 ml, 20 to 40 kg should be used for 1 to 1.5 ml, 40 kg should be used for 2 ml, and 50 kg or more should be used for 2.5 ml.
(4) The liquid spray can be selected from 0.15% octylthion and 0.012% cypermethrin with a syringe of 15 ml per nostril, with an interval of 15 minutes on both sides.
(5) The dichlorvos smoke exorcism method drives the sheep to the smoking room, uses 40% dichlorvos emulsion, administers the medicine according to 1 ml per cubic meter, pours the liquid on the iron plate that is roasted hot but does not red, let it produce smoke, and let the sheep absorb the fog for 15 minutes. This method can 100% repel the first stage larvae of sheep-nosed fly maggots.
(6) With 20% iodonitronol injection at 10 mg per kilogram of body weight, subcutaneous injection, after 2 days, it has a good repellent effect on stage 1, 2 and 3 larvae.
(7) Iodothersamide, 60 mg per kilogram of body weight, combined into a suspension for 1 oral dose, can kill more than 98% of the larvae of sheep berserk flies at various stages.
