When summer comes, these parasites are particularly active, and as the temperature rises, the ability of parasites to reproduce is getting stronger and stronger; so to grow fat, deworming is the key. The most obvious manifestation of sheep infection with parasites is that the coat color is dull, messy, appetite declines, such as liver flakes flukes will also be accompanied by obvious symptoms such as jaw edema, so in the early summer is the key to deworming sheep, the following are more powerful parasite treatment methods;
1. Taeniasis
The most common is The Moniz tapeworm. The body of the insect is 1 to 5 meters long, white, and slender. It is mainly parasitic in the small intestine, and in severe cases, the worm body blocks the intestinal canal. Goats infected with tapeworm disease are quickly emaciated, their fur is coarse and dull, their appetite is reduced and their appetite increases, and they develop diarrhea, anemia and edema, and, in a few cases, neurological symptoms.
Treatment: It can be used with bibutyl (dichlorophenol sulfate), at 100 mg per kilogram of body weight, with water dissolved and irrigated, the effect is very good. It can also be filled with 1% copper sulfate solution at 2 ml per kilogram of body weight. 50 to 75 mg per kilogram of body weight is taken orally. Prothionicidazole is commonly used for prevention and is administered at 15 mg per kilogram of body weight, with good results.
2. Liver fluke disease
Also known as liver leeches, the insect body is flat, much like a leaf, slightly larger than pumpkin seeds, generally parasitic in the liver and bile ducts of sheep, with an infection rate of 20% to 30%. Goats with liver fluke disease are wasting, anemia, submandibular edema, and diarrhea occurs in the later stages, which eventually leads to liver poisoning and exhaustion and death.
Treatment: Niclochlorophenol can be dewormed, 4 to 5 mg orally per kilogram of body weight. Once in late autumn and early winter and once in late winter and early spring, 5% liver leeches can also be net suspended at 10 mg orally at 10 mg per kilogram of body weight, or 100 mg per kilogram body weight can be used for good deworming effect of bibutyl sulfate. Commonly used anti-insect drugs propithiidazole, intestinal worms and so on.
3. Sheep-nosed fly maggot disease
Sick sheep present with inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, large amounts of nasal discharge, pus, sneezing, coughing, and wasting. People who invade the trachea and lungs have difficulty breathing, and those who invade the sinuses and affect the meninges can cause neurological symptoms. The disease can recur periodically until death.
Treatment: 3% Lysol solution can be directly sprayed into the nostrils, 20 to 30 ml per nostril per sheep; at present, many places use 0.3% mite purification solution nasal injection prevention, 6 to 8 ml per nostril, the effect is good.
4. Hydatidiforminsis of sheep brains
Also known as "crazy sheep" and "circle disease", the brain nerve symptoms based on circles are obvious and easier to diagnose.
Treatment: Praziquantel powder can be used for oral prophylaxis in the spring of each year at a dose of 60 to 80 mg per kilogram of body weight. Treatment can be with a partial-point injection of praziquantel injection (diluted with 10% cooking oil or paraffin oil) at 50 to 60 mg per kilogram of body weight. If the effect is not obvious after 10 days of medication, the second dose of medication can be carried out.
