A common symptom of cattle skin maggot disease is that there are many small pimples and holes in the skin of the cow's back. It is a chronic parasitic disease caused by the parasitism of the larvae of the cow skin fly or the tattooed fly in the subcutaneous tissue of the back of the cow, which is listed as a 3-class animal disease in China for cattle. The pathogen is the larvae of two kinds of flies, bovine skin fly and striae fly, the adult flies do not bite and eat, and the larvae migrate within the deep tissues, causing tissue damage and inflammation; Under the skin of the back, there are different degrees of cellulitis, the perforation of the bulge is often suppurated due to microbial infection, there is pus and exudation flow, dry knots become scabs, coarse hair; Secreted toxic substances have a damaging effect on the blood and blood vessel walls. When the infection is severe, the animal is emaciated, the meat quality is poor, the development of the young animal is hindered, the milk production of the cow is reduced, and the capacity of the service animal is reduced; The most serious damage is the perforation of large skin on the back, resulting in an economic loss of leather.

In areas where the flies are active, spray cattle with 0.5% dimethoate solution every half a month to prevent the flies from laying eggs. Regularly use pyrethroid spray to kill flies in barns and sports venues. Treatment should first remove the purulent scab, dip a brush in 2% aqueous solution of the insects, and rub on the back of the cow for 2 to 3 minutes, most of the insects can be killed. During the epidemic season, apply the drug 2 to 3 times. Or in November of each year, hypothion is injected intramuscularly into the buttocks. Internal medications that kill early larvae in transitional development can yield better results.
