Lego Batman Movie: A superhero who uses his life to be funny

author:Barcelona Films

Batman's creator DC Comics made Lego Movie ruthlessly spoof their signature hero in 2014, which can already be said to be courageous, but this time they intensified and let Lego Make a spoof movie with Batman as the protagonist, either because they think Batman can hold the spoof, or because Batman has reached the point where people can no longer look at him with a serious eye on the road to superhero.

In either case, this hilarious and meme-filled action-adventure film is really going to spoil Batman, while amplifying his psychological pathology, which "serious movies" rarely do. It's not as deep, deep, or innovative as the first LEGO movie, but with a lot of laughter from start to finish, everything else can be forgiven.

Will Arnett has been voicing Batman since The Lego Movie

Will Arnett's voice has a rough feel similar to That of Christian Bell. With this sound, we see a manly, humorous, arrogant and conceited Dark Knight who thinks he can do everything and prefers to fight alone than to team up.

At the beginning, he denies that their hostile relationship is different in a wonderful duel with the Joker. "Batman has nothing to do with anyone." When he said this, the clown cried. (I have to say that, like the previous game, this animation made with Lego is unexpectedly vivid.) )

The clown's flat mouth to cry expression is quite cute

Next, our hero returns to the empty bat cave alone, one heats the lobster in the microwave, one plays a heavy metal guitar for a while, and one watches Atango's "Mr. Sweetheart" in the home theater. In other words, he was a bit of a failure.

Of course, Batman's solitary life is bound to be disrupted. First of all, because of an orphan he accidentally adopted, this child who always looks at his family with wide eyes and surprise is the future Robin, but at first Batman can't stand him (I believe fans will feel the same way).

Batman's happy father is also a major attraction of this film

Then it's because of the Joker, after he's been injured by Batman's self-esteem, he hatches a bigger plot to take Batman's attention back and pull them back into a symbiotic relationship.

Meanwhile, newly appointed police chief Barbara Gordon (voiced by Rosario Dawson) advocates a whole new way to combat evil by teaming up with Batman.

Batman in the film is widely loved

In a typical superhero movie, batman and police cooperation is impossible, but in the parallel LEGO universe, everything is possible. The whole movie is full of all kinds of witty words and spoofs, such as a movie theater in the background that is showing "Two Shades of Grey".

There is also a subversion of politics, such as the suggestion that Batman can be exempt from the law and not be held legally responsible. There is even a ghost zone similar to Guantanamo in the film, which is used to hold prisoners, and is also not governed by law.

Batman's life is inseparable from the old butler Alfred

But the movie is more about other fictional characters, such as superheroes in the DC Universe who compete with Batman or other characters from stories (including Pokemon and Doctor Who's Derrick), and most importantly, various versions of Batman himself.

One of them is a passage in which Alfred, Batman's old butler, reminds him that he has had a similar identity crisis before, and then lists the years of all Batman films from 2016 onwards, until 1966's Batman: The Big Movie starring Adam West, and we can still see a small picture of it. The LEGO Batman Movie knows that it's closer to this hilarious version than the later version.

The film has a similar style to 1966's Batman: The Big Movie

That kind of hilarity is in the blood of today's satires, such as the animated cartoon "Robot Broiler Chicken", which is a spoof of popular pop culture, Hollywood's "American Team" after "South Park", and last year's "Deadpool". In fact, the Lego Batman Movie is basically a young version of Deadpool.

But let's not forget that this movie is essentially an advertisement, it promotes both Batman and Lego, and its merchandise has been really implanted in it: children will definitely want a Batman's latest scuttler after watching it, and the following is Amazon's sales information, and you can feel the price.

Seriously, when we go to the movies, we should have the filmmakers pay us. But as a movie, it not only satisfies the hard requirements of advertising, but also shakes the burden of irony, and finally can package these all into an all-age self-spoof comedy, which can be said to be admirable or worthy of awe. It is undeniable that this is a well-made work.
