Liu Hongguo said that since the beginning of this year, the city's public security traffic police department has gone all out to grasp various traffic management work around the goal of "safe traffic and smooth Nanchong". Liu Hongguo stressed that although certain results have been achieved in the work of alleviating congestion and ensuring smoothness in the main urban area through the "smart traffic signal control center", there are still some problems and shortcomings in the actual work, but there are still urban signal lights that have not yet reached full coverage, and the overall results are not obvious; the signal lights are not uniform in planning, construction and management, and nearly 200 signal machines cannot achieve networked joint control due to hardware functions; the distribution of lanes is unreasonable, the marking lines are not perfect, and the traffic light settings are not standardized In a few places, there are still unreasonable regional traffic organizations, mismatched traffic flow and road carrying capacity, and the deep-seated problems that restrict the in-depth promotion of traffic management work, such as congestion, cannot be completely solved through the optimization of signal lights.
Liu Hongguo said that in the next step, the Traffic Police Detachment of Nanchong City will continue to expand the scope of signal light service intersections, gradually replace signal machines that do not meet the specifications, realize the network control of all urban signal lights, further enhance the level of refinement and intelligence of urban road traffic signal control applications, and continuously improve the traffic signal control application management work mechanism. At the same time, based on the characteristics of local traffic laws, in-depth study of commercial concentration areas, regional connection roads, important bridges and tunnels, key intersections and other key areas prone to congestion, scientifically formulate the overall strategy of congestion control, to alleviate congestion in urban areas to the greatest extent, and create a safe, orderly, smooth and civilized road traffic environment for the people to travel.
Up to now, the number of motor vehicles in the three districts under the jurisdiction of Nanchong Has reached more than 450,000, more than 700,000 motor vehicle drivers, and there are 357 groups of traffic lights in the urban area. Since the operation of the "Smart Traffic Signal Control Center", 155 networked joint control signal light intersections have been optimized, and the timing of signal lights at 216 important intersections has been optimized, and green wave coordinated control has been implemented on 21 main roads in the urban area. Combined with the analysis of the third-party big data platform, it is learned that the traffic congestion index in the main urban area has dropped by 3.8% compared with the same period last year, the average road traffic time has dropped by 27.3%, the delay index has decreased by 23.8%, the average daily peak congestion time has been shortened by about 20 minutes, and the average speed of the road implementing green wave coordinated control has increased by about 14.5%.
At the meeting, the technical director of the intelligent control center made a detailed introduction to the signal light "green wave belt", he said that through the optimized traffic signal setting, the vehicle from the "green wave belt" traffic, the recommended speed is 45km per hour, as long as the speed is controlled, most of the vehicles can encounter green lights at each intersection. This can effectively reduce the number of stops or no need to stop, and open the "green wave belt" during the peak period to improve the vehicle traffic rate.
Before the press conference, under the leadership of the staff, the group first visited the coordination effect of the "Green Wave Belt" on the main road of the city, and then learned about the "Smart Traffic Signal Control Center" platform from all aspects of functional positioning, construction goals, operation modes, and work modules in Nanchong Smart Traffic Signal Control Center.
