This passage is an anecdote recorded in Sima Guang's "Zizhi Tongjian".
Suzong here is Li Heng of Tang Suzong, and the "secret" here is the famous minister of the Tang Dynasty, Li Bi, the Marquis of Yi. At that time, during the Anshi Rebellion, under the plot of Li Bi, the Tang Dynasty defeated the Anshi rebels and was about to retake chang'an and Luoyang. Li Bi replied: "My wishes are different from other heroes. Now I am cultivating the valley and planning for His Majesty. In fact, the reason why Li Bi has this wish is allusion. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a famous hermit named Yan Guang, who was friends with liu xiu, the Guangwu Emperor. After Liu Xiu established the Eastern Han Dynasty, he invited Yan Guang to the Capital Division, hoping that he could become an official. But Yan Guang was accustomed to freedom and did not want to be out at all.
At night, Liu Xiu and Yan Guang slept in the same bed as they did as children. Yan Guang put his thigh on Liu Xiu's stomach. After a while, an astronomer rushed to play: "There is a guest star who commits the throne!" However, in reality, it was only Yan Guang who put his thigh on Liu Xiu's stomach.
Li Bi was naturally not as bold as Yan Guang, daring to take the emperor's old man's belly. Therefore, he retreated and hoped to use Tang Suzong's knee as a pillow.

After the Outbreak of the Anshi Rebellion, Li Heng was proclaimed emperor at Lingwu and honored Emperor Xuanzong of Tang as Emperor Taishang and for Emperor Suzong of Tang. Due to the lack of strategists around him, Tang Suzong remembered Li Bi. So he urgently sent people around to look for Li Bi. And Li Bi had long realized that Tang Suzong would look for himself, so he had already reached Lingwu.
After seeing Li Bi, Tang Suzong was very happy. To give him an official position, Li Bi called himself a mountain man and resolutely resigned, hoping to follow him as a guest.
Although Li Bi did not hold an official position, he made many major strategic suggestions to Tang Suzong and formulated a series of policies for defeating the rebels of An Lushan and Shi Siming. It was at Li Bi's correct suggestion that Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi repeatedly broke through the rebels and approached recapturing Chang'an and Luoyang.
In addition to making military proposals, Li Bi also made many suggestions politically.
At that time, Emperor Suzong of Tang had two powerful sons, the eldest son Li Li the Prince of Guangping and the second son Li Kui the Prince of Jianning. Although Li Qian was younger, he was heroic and martial, and had the style of Tang Taizong. Therefore, Emperor Suzong of Tang intended to appoint Li Qian as a marshal.

This sentence may seem like an answer to what was not asked, but it actually hits the heart of the question. In fact, Li Linfu was just a thug of Tang Xuanzong's restriction of Tang Suzong's power. Therefore, it was not simply Li Linfu who framed Li Heng, but Tang Xuanzong suppressed Li Heng. After Chang'an and Luoyang were restored one after another, Tang Suzong and Li Bibing came to Baoding County. That night, Li Bi had gone to bed. Tang Suzong, on the other hand, sneaked onto his bed and placed Li Bi's head on his lap. Li Bi's joke, Tang Suzong actually took it seriously.
However, Emperor Suzong's favor for Li Bi provoked hatred between Yuan Zai and the eunuch Li Fuguo at the time. The history books record: "The generations of Yuan Zai and the auxiliary country are jealous and hateful. ”
Li Bi understood that his favor was too much, but it was the way to take misfortune, and the so-called Mu Xiu yu Lin Feng would destroy it. And Tang Suzong's IQ is mediocre, and it is easy to be influenced by these villains. So Li Bi ignored Tang Suzong's objections and returned to the mountain forest again.
