Afghan Taliban supreme leader Akhonzada appeared at a religious school in kandahar, southern Afghanistan, on Oct. 30 and delivered a speech. It was his first public appearance since he became the Taliban's top leader in 2016.

According to the head of this religious school, Maurawi Said, on the 31st, Ahunzada visited the school on the morning of the 30th and gave a 10-minute speech to the students of the school. Saeed said Akhonzada did not allow those present to take videos and photos during the visit and prohibited all those present from using their mobile phones.

Ahonzada has been the top leader of the Afghan Taliban since 2016 but has not been seen in public. After the Taliban took over power in Afghanistan on August 15 this year, Taliban spokesman Mujahid said Akhonzadah lived in Kandahar province. On September 7, Mujahid said at a news conference announcing the composition of the Afghan interim government that Ahuzada leads the country as an emir.
