Akhnzada, the supreme leader of the Afghan Taliban, appears at a religious school in Kandahar

KABUL, 31 Oct (Xinhua) -- Afghan Taliban supreme leader Akhonzada appeared at a religious school in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan, on October 30 and delivered a speech. It was his first public appearance since he became the Taliban's top leader in 2016.

The head of this religious school, Mullavi Sayyid, told Xinhua News Agency on the 31st that Ahunzada visited the school on the morning of the 30th and delivered a 10-minute speech to the students of the school. Saeed said Akhonzada did not allow those present to take videos and photos during the visit and prohibited all those present from using their mobile phones.

Ahonzada has been the top leader of the Afghan Taliban since 2016 but has not been seen in public. After the Taliban took over power in Afghanistan on August 15 this year, Taliban spokesman Mujahid said Akhonzadah lived in Kandahar province.
