Guangming Daily, Beijing, October 31 (Reporter Han Yeting) Under the guidance of the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, sponsored by Guangming Daily, the "Cultural Power" Guangming Daily Collaborative Promotion Platform, and the Guangming Network undertaken by the 2021 "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year" selection and publicity activity was launched in Beijing on October 29.
From that date onwards, the public can recommend the 2021 "Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Annual Figures" to the event organizing committee through the cultural departments (bureaus) of each province (autonomous region or municipality directly under the central government), the reporter stations of Guangming Daily, the experts of the Guangming Daily Intangible Cultural Heritage Communication Expert Committee, the experts of the expert jury, etc., and can also participate in the selection activities by sending emails to personal self-nominations. The selection targets include, but are not limited to, non-genetic inheritors, responsible persons of intangible cultural heritage enterprises, investors and managers of the intangible cultural heritage industry, intangible cultural heritage artists, intangible cultural heritage researchers, and intangible cultural heritage disseminators, but must meet the requirements of landmark, orientation, innovation, exemplary, and contribution.
The 2021 "Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year" selection and publicity activities are divided into three stages: primary selection, re-selection and final selection. After the organizing committee collects the recommended list of all parties, it will conduct a compliance review, and according to the situation of the recommended person and the opinions of experts, 100 candidates will be preliminarily selected; after the preliminary selection list is determined, the Guangming Daily Intangible Cultural Heritage Communication Expert Committee and the expert jury will re-select by secret ballot to select 30 finalists from the 100 candidates; finally, according to online voting and expert review, 10 "Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Persons of the Year" in 2021 will be selected from the 30 finalists.
Since 2017, the "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year" has been successfully held for four sessions. This year's selection and publicity activities will focus on this year's important non-genetic inheritance practices, summarize the results and experience of various localities in carrying out intangible cultural heritage protection work in a creative way according to local conditions and conditions, and show the tireless persistence and exploration of the majority of intangible cultural heritage people, so as to promote the attention of the whole society to the cause of intangible cultural heritage protection. In this process, Guangming Daily and its affiliated media platforms will record the inheritance stories of non-hereditary inheritors in a variety of ways such as text, video, live broadcast, interviews, and dialogues, publicize the "Chinese experience" and "Chinese plan" of intangible cultural heritage protection, and create a good public opinion atmosphere for the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
It is expected that the 2021 "Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year" will be announced in early January 2022.
