Chai Zhanzhu was selected as one of the 100 candidates for the 2021 "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year"

Recently, under the guidance of the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the 2021 "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year" election campaign sponsored by Guangming Daily and Guangming Network has determined the list of 100 candidates. National intangible cultural heritage representative project Dangyangyu stranded tire porcelain firing technology national representative inheritor Chai Zhanzhu was selected.

It is understood that since the launch of this year's election publicity activities, all sectors of society have responded warmly, and the intangible cultural heritage departments, intangible cultural heritage protection units, experts and netizens have actively recommended candidates. After joint deliberation by the Organizing Committee of the Event and the Expert Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage Communication of Guangming Daily, the list of 100 candidates, including inheritors, curators, artists, managers, researchers and communicators, was determined according to the selection criteria. On this basis, the next step will be to select 30 nominated candidates and 10 2021 "Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Annual Figures", and hold the 2021 "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Annual People" unveiling activities.

In 2018, the 58-year-old Chai Zhanzhu was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as the representative inheritor of the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects. Chai Zhanzhu learned the firing techniques of stranded porcelain from Wang Youzhou and other old artists, and gradually mastered the basic techniques of stranded porcelain feather pattern, chrysanthemum pattern, mat weave, wood grain, natural grain and other textures and the traditional firing technique of stranded porcelain. After decades of efforts, on the basis of traditional techniques, Chai Zhanzhu has developed the ornamentation techniques of stranded porcelain from the first few to hundreds, the variety of instruments has developed to more than 100 varieties in 9 categories, and the color mud has been enriched from black and white mud to red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and other colors. The stranded tire porcelain inherited and developed by Chai Zhanzhu has presented to the world a magical and vivid, consistent appearance, internal and external communication, one tire and one side, non-replicable, unique stranded tire porcelain treasures, and his works have won many domestic awards and been incorporated into major museums at home and abroad.
